385 City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Councilmen Absent: Counc~ ] men Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall January 6, 1958. ?:30 P.M. Boy~l E. ~bbarel, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly' Stanley C. Gould, A. A. Hall The Pledge of Allegiance was given. Invocation wap given by Edward J. Allen, Chief of Police. Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of December 16, 1957 and December 30, 1957, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried. Presentation of Safety Award · ~# ~ ~ ~ZZ~,~ Mayor Dale H. Heinly presented a merit certificate and a cash award to Michael William Rehorn, 12801 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, who was the outstanding driver Presentation of Award g~fO of the month in the Santa Ana Safe Driving Campaign. Councilman Stanley C. Gould, Jr. arrived at 7:35 P.M. Chief of Police Edward J. Allen, on behalf of the Orange County Peace Officers Association, presented an award to Mayor Dale H. Heinly for winning first place in Presentation of Awards to Firemen the Pistol Match between the Mayors of the Orange County Cities. John Garthe, Fire Chief~ presented certificates of awards to eighteen members of his department who completed, on their own time, the Fire Department Administrative Bid acceptance Trdck loader and dump body Course given by the State Department of Education. The Manager presented a tabulation of bids for the furnishing of one front end truck loader and dump body~ per Specification No. 62h-5, as follows: Butler & Son, in the sum of $5,461.80. 10% bid bond P. B. Loader Mfg. Co., in the sum of $5,901.00 - 10% bid bond On rec~nmendation of the Manager and on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by low Markel and carried, the~bid of Butler & Son, in the sum of $5,461.80 was accepted Bids - Radio telephone e~uipment and the other bid rejected. On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, action was postponed until the next meeting on the award of bids for the furnishing of servicycle motorcycle radio, two solocycle motorcycle radios Bid acceptance Lighting system Madison Park and fourteen mobile radios, per Specification No. 654-3. The Manager presented a tabulation of bids for the furnishimg and installing of general grounds lighting and ball field flood lighting at Madison Park, per Specification No. 647-5, as follows: E.D.Johnson & Company Sutton & Frost Electric Company Grimes Electric Santa Ana Electric Company Hoffman & Son, Inc.
