Allen, Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of December 16, 1957 and December 30, 1957, reading of the Minutes was <br />dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br />by Markel and carried. <br /> <br />Presentation of <br />Safety Award <br /> · ~# ~ ~ ~ZZ~,~ <br /> <br />Mayor Dale H. Heinly presented a merit certificate and a cash award to Michael <br /> <br />William Rehorn, 12801 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, who was the outstanding driver <br /> <br />Presentation of <br />Award g~fO <br /> <br />of the month in the Santa Ana Safe Driving Campaign. <br /> <br />Councilman Stanley C. Gould, Jr. arrived at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Chief of Police Edward J. Allen, on behalf of the Orange County Peace Officers <br /> <br />Association, presented an award to Mayor Dale H. Heinly for winning first place in <br /> <br />Presentation of <br />Awards to Firemen <br /> <br />the Pistol Match between the Mayors of the Orange County Cities. <br /> <br />John Garthe, Fire Chief~ presented certificates of awards to eighteen members of <br /> <br />his department who completed, on their own time, the Fire Department Administrative <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Trdck loader and <br />dump body <br /> <br />Course given by the State Department of Education. <br /> <br />The Manager presented a tabulation of bids for the furnishing of one front end <br />truck loader and dump body~ per Specification No. 62h-5, as follows: <br /> <br /> Butler & Son, in the sum of $5,461.80. 10% bid bond <br /> P. B. Loader Mfg. Co., in the sum of $5,901.00 - 10% bid bond <br /> <br />On rec~nmendation of the Manager and on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> low <br />Markel and carried, the~bid of Butler & Son, in the sum of $5,461.80 was accepted <br /> <br />Bids - Radio <br />telephone e~uipment <br /> <br />and the other bid rejected. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Gould and carried, action was postponed until the next meeting on the award of bids <br /> <br />for the furnishing of servicycle motorcycle radio, two solocycle motorcycle radios <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Lighting system <br />Madison Park <br /> <br />and fourteen mobile radios, per Specification No. 654-3. <br /> <br />The Manager presented a tabulation of bids for the furnishimg and installing of <br />general grounds lighting and ball field flood lighting at Madison Park, per <br />Specification No. 647-5, as follows: <br /> <br />E.D.Johnson & Company <br />Sutton & Frost Electric Company <br />Grimes Electric <br />Santa Ana Electric Company <br />Hoffman & Son, Inc. <br /> <br />Total cost <br /> <br />$ 10,016.00 <br /> 14,917.00 <br /> 11,9~5.00 <br /> 10,300.00 <br /> 12,089.00 <br /> <br />10% bid bond <br />10% bid bond <br />10~ bid bond <br />10~ bid bond <br />$1300.00 bid bond <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by <br /> <br />Hubbard and carried, the low bid of E.
