<br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Richard Piaster and A.E.
<br /> Arnold granted to permit the construction of a church, with social hall and parson-
<br /> a~e, on property located on the south side of Myrtle Street west of Spruce Street,
<br /> in an R-1 District, subject to conditions of the Planning Commission and the
<br /> Department of Public Works.

<br /> On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Hillcrest Rentals
<br /> granted to permit the erection of three rental signs, 3' x 15' in size, to replace
<br />
<br /> 8m83 let signs~ on new apartmeut building (consisting of ll4 two-bedroom apartments~
<br /> located at 1352-1402-1~10 East Fruit Street,
<br />/~ubJect to the condition that the signs are to remain not to exceed a period of
<br />

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Santa Ana Community
<br />
<br />Hospital granted, to enlarge existing hospital at 519-521 Wellington Avenue, in an
<br />
<br />District, and to provide for additional off-street parking for hospital use,
<br />
<br />subject to conditions of the Department of Public Works and the Planning Commissio
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation of
<br />
<br />the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Robert D. Moore, Jr.,
<br />
<br />granted to construct multiple-family dwelling units on property located on the
<br />
<br />south side of Walnut Street west of Pacific Avenue, in an R-1 District, not to
<br />
<br />exceed five units on each lot, with off-street parking or garages for five cars on
<br />
<br />each lot, subject to conditions of the Plornuing Commission.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried,

<br />that escrow in-

<br />structions be approved and signed with S.A. and Jessie E. Cain, for the extension
<br />
<br />of Artesia Park, property at 1817 West Eighth Street, in the sum of $9,500.00.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br />"Resolution No. 58-16 concerning parkio~z limitations and cUrb
<br />markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing a loading zone on the north side of Second Street between Main and
<br /> bet%~en the two driveways of McLean Motor Company,
