411 <br /> <br />Council C~mbe r <br />Santa Aha City wal <br />February 17, 1958. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting c-!)ed to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, A. A. Hall, I~le H. ~einly <br />Councilmen ~-ley C. Gould, .7. Ogden M~rkel <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend Alphonso D~m~guez of the Latin American Methodist Church. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council hav!~ received copies of the Minutes of February $, 1958, <br />reading of the Minutes was dispensed with aud approved on motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />seconded by Nall and carried. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Paving E. 17th St. <br />and on Tustin Ave. <br /> <br />The M~ge.r presented a tabulation of bids for the widening and construction of <br />pav-m?nt on 17th Street, south side from 652.85 feet west of Tustin Avenue and on <br />Tustin Avenue, west side from 17th Street to 6~.~ feet south of 17th Street, <br /> <br />Project C-23, as follows: <br /> <br />Cox Bros. Construction Co. <br />Griffith <br />R.J.Noble Co. <br />Darwin Transportion Co. <br />~,lly-Miller Contracting <br /> <br /> Total <br /> <br />9,754.69 <br />8,331.Z~ <br />10~351.19 <br /> <br />10~ bond <br />$1000 bond <br /> <br />Certified check $1000.00. <br /> <br />On recc~m~udation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />and carried, the low bid of R.J.Noble Co. in the amount of $8,3~1.27 was <br /> <br />Reso. No. 58-48 <br />Prevailin~ rate of <br />per diem wages for <br />crafts and classi- <br />fications for City <br />contracts <br /> <br />accepted and the other bids rejected. <br /> <br />The Co.uncil having unanimously~waived the reading'oftheResolutiOn, on motion <br /> <br />Cou~cilman~Hubba~d.~seconded by Hall and carried, the following-'Resot~tlon entitled <br /> <br />"ResOlution'NO. 58-48,aseertaining the general ~revailin~ ~ate of <br />per diem wages in the locality of Sant~ Aha, California, for the <br />c~afts and classiFicationsn~ede~to execute,CibY contractS" <br /> <br />was .considered and,passed by the f011owiug vote:. <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Lmprovement of <br />Delhi and other <br />streets - Assessment <br />District No. 197 <br /> ~ go- <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen. Gould, Jr. arrived at 8:~O P.M. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced this is the time and place for hearing prdtests or objections <br /> <br />against theimprovament of Delhi ,Ro~d andre%hers by paving. and other work, in <br /> <br />Assessment District No. 197, as .described in Resolution of Intention No. 58-15. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked the Assistant Clerk if she was in possession of the affidavit of <br /> <br />publication, affidavit of posting and affidavit of mailing. The Assistant Clerk <br /> <br />stated she had the affidavits, and on motion of Cott~cllma- Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Gould and carried, the affidavits were received and filed. The Mayor asked the <br /> <br />Assis~t Clerk if she had received any written prOtests or objections against the <br /> <br />doing of the proposed work. The Assistant Clerk stated she had no written protest~ <br /> <br />but received a c~m-unication from Mrs. L.M.Weaver, owner of property at 2533 Ever- <br /> <br />green Street, favoring the proposed improvements.
