Communications South Main Improvement Assoc., Siegel, Bascom & Siegel, et al On motion of Counci!~an Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, communications were received and filed: Plans and Specifications Street improvements on Delhi Road from Main to Flower Streets Assessment District No.203 Sixth Street west of Hawley Street Salary increases Permit A.E.Fowler & Sons (leasing of property) Request for Special License the following From the South Main Improvement Association protesting against South Main Street being considered as a one-way street and any change of traffic pattern which might restrict the present two-way traffic on South Main Street frc~ First Street south to the city L~mits, and until such time as other streets have been improved parable to said street, and as such have proven inadequate to handle two-way traffic, From Siegel, Bascom & Siegel concerning the improvements, or lack of them, on the south side of Fruit Street in front of Hillcrest Rentals' property, and requesting the City to prohibit substandard improvements within the 60 foot right-of-way limits or specifical]y the southerly 30 feet that is not presently improved, and an opinion from the City Attorney regarding the subdivision of property into less than five parcels, or the manner in which this property was developed and also inform- ation on the issuance of permits for the substandard improvements being installed, From six property owomrs on the west side of North Patton Street between Sixth and Eighth Streets requesting Information on the City, s intentions regarding the acquisition of their property to be used in the Civic Center, Application of D.W.Boyles and J.R.Britton, dba Airport Coach Service, before the Public Utilities Crm..~ssion, for authority to extend its routes to include Fullerton and change of route in the City of Santa Ama, From David Wellbrook suggesting that the City Waterworks lot be used for a parking lot instead of Birch Park, and a clubhouse be added for the ladies at Birch Park, From California Highway Co~m, ission submitting Resolution restating and revising its ~reeway route adoption procedure on location or major relocation of Freeways on the State Highway System, Annual report of the Fire Department for the year 1957, I Minutes of the February 21, 1958 meeting of the Orange County Mosquito Abatement District, and The notification of the Depa~aent of Alcoholic Beverage Control of beverage appli- ~cations of Frank L. Leouardo, 1239 Fairview Avenue, and Natalie M. and Ricardo C. Plasencia, 1917 West Fifth Street. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and specifications were approved for street improvements on Delhi Road from Plain to Flower Streets, Project No. 103. A petition was presented signed by property owners to provide for street improvement on Sixth Street from Hawley Street westerly to its westerly terminus as sho~m on a map of Tract No. 633, and on the west half of Hawley Street between the north line of Fifth Street and the north line of said Tract No. 633, to be constructed under the provisions of the Improvement Act of 191.l. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the petition was referred to the Clerk for checkiz the percentage of valid signatures with the records of the County Assessor's Office. On motion of Coanci]m~n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom- mendation of the Phnager, dated March 10, 1958, for salary step increases for seven employees effective April 1, 1958, was approved. Heinly None Roll C~] ] On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, proper officials were authorized to execute Permit dated April 17, 1958, with A. E. Fowler & Sons for permission to remove sand and dirt from City property in the Santa Aha River, south of C~rden Grove Boulevard, at a price of $0.10 per cubic yard, and for a period of one year. On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the application of Carlos Gutierrez for a Special License to preach on the northwest corner of Adams and Halladay Streets, beginning Sunday, April 6, 1958, for the su~r period, every Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., and to use an amplifier or loud speaker controlled from an automobile, was denied on the grounds that investigation by the Administrative staff indicated it would interfere with the Church services and the residents in the area.
