<br /> The Manager reported that traffic signals have been installed at the intersectio~ /
<br /> of Washington and Bristol Street and recommended the transfer of the crossimg guard
<br /> to the intersection of Baker and Washington, and on motion of Councilm~n Hubbard,
<br /> seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation to transfer the crossing guar~l
<br />
<br /> .w. as approved.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, action was continued
<br /> until April 7, 1958 on report from the Department of Public Works reference letter
<br /> of C & S ~m~d Company regarding the proposed construction of an earth fill in the
<br /> location of Delhi Road running east from Harbor Boulevard.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by E1 and carried, Councilman STmnley C.
<br /> Gould, Jr., was granted permission to leave the State from March 25th to April
<br />
<br /> 6, 1958. ~

<br /> On motion of Councllm~ Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute agreement dated March 17, 1958, with the State of
<br /> California, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, for joint financing
<br /> of traffic signal installation at Broadway Place, Delhi Road and Main Street, State
<br /> Route VII-0ra-184-A, SA.
<br />
<br /> On r~commendation of the Manager and on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by
<br /> Hal~ and carried, the new Job classification for Motor Grader Operator and revised
<br /> Job specifications for Equipment Operator were approved.

<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilman GOuld, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled
<br />
<br /> '~Resolution No. 58-8~ concerning parking limitations and curb
<br /> markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br /> providing for a vision zone for cross-walk at John Muir School, Fourth and McClay*
<br /> Streets, as recommended by the Department of Public Works, was considered and passed
<br /> by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing of lO,000 lineal feet of
<br />
<br />12 inch cast iron cement lined water pipe with rubber gasket joint, per Specificatic
<br />No. k81-11; bids to be opened April 7, 1958.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, that the Council
<br />go on record commending the members of the De Molay and their Counsellors, on their
<br />Civic Day Program and for their interest and enthusiasm as City Officials of the
<br />day.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br />w~re authorized to execute agreement with the State of California Department of
<br />Employment for the use of the south portion of the City-owned parking area on the
<br />southwest corner of Eighth and Flower Streets, under certain conditions.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, the City Council
<br />adjourned.
