Valdez <br />granted to permit the operation of the business of making custom wedding gowns, on <br />property situated at 1145 West 17th Street, in a C-1-PK District, with space for <br />off-street parking of four or five cars, instead of one-third of the land as re- <br />quired by the existing zoning of the property, and subject to the conditions as <br />imposed by the Co~nission only. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial of variance <br />application of G. R. Hilliard to permit construction of one one-story triplex <br />building (two bedrooms each unit) with one double garage and one single garage, ea¢ <br />,m~t to consist of approximately 900 square feet, on property situated at the north <br />west corner of Bush Street and Santa Clara Avenue, in an R-2 District. On motion <br />of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission was approved and the variance denied. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gould that Resolutions Nos. 57-280 and No. 57-309 here- <br />tofore passed by the City Council prohibiting stopping or standing on North Main <br />Street from First to Ninth Streets between l0 A.M. and 9 P.M. be modified for a <br />period of ninety days commencing May l, 1958 through July 31, 1958, between 3 P.5 <br />and 6 P.M. only, daily except Sundays and holidays. Councilman Markel requested <br />that the City Manager give the figures on the sales tax returns. The Manager <br />reported that the sales tax returns were up 6~ for the Christmas season and that <br />in February, March and April the payment made by the State have been some 15% to <br /> <br />19~0 greater than for the similar months in the past. The Council having unanimou~ y <br />waived the reading of the Resolution, it was moved by Councilman Gould and seconde~ <br />by Hall, that the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> '~qesolution No. 58-103 amending Resolutions No. 57-280 and No. 57-309 <br /> to modify parking prohibition on Main Street, First to Ninth Streets" <br /> <br />be considered and passed. It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall <br /> <br />and carried, that the motion be amended to change the dates to read "June l, 1958 <br /> <br />to August 31, 1958". A roll call vote was taken on the amended motion: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A.A.Hall, Dale H. Heinly <br />Noes, Councilmen J. Ogden Markel <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />Motion carried and the Resolution was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen S%anley C. Gould, Jr., A.A.Hall, Dale H. Ogden Markel <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried~ the following Ordinance entitled <br /> <br /> "Ordinance No. NS-318 declaring the annexation of that certain <br /> territory designated 'Delhi and Main S.W. Annex'" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes~ Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H.
