Annex" 6~ Ordinance No. NS-319 Declaring annexation "Fairview and Center On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Mrs. Maria P. Valdez granted to permit the operation of the business of making custom wedding gowns, on property situated at 1145 West 17th Street, in a C-1-PK District, with space for off-street parking of four or five cars, instead of one-third of the land as re- quired by the existing zoning of the property, and subject to the conditions as imposed by the Co~nission only. Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial of variance application of G. R. Hilliard to permit construction of one one-story triplex building (two bedrooms each unit) with one double garage and one single garage, ea¢ ,m~t to consist of approximately 900 square feet, on property situated at the north west corner of Bush Street and Santa Clara Avenue, in an R-2 District. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance denied. It was moved by Councilman Gould that Resolutions Nos. 57-280 and No. 57-309 here- tofore passed by the City Council prohibiting stopping or standing on North Main Street from First to Ninth Streets between l0 A.M. and 9 P.M. be modified for a period of ninety days commencing May l, 1958 through July 31, 1958, between 3 P.5 and 6 P.M. only, daily except Sundays and holidays. Councilman Markel requested that the City Manager give the figures on the sales tax returns. The Manager reported that the sales tax returns were up 6~ for the Christmas season and that in February, March and April the payment made by the State have been some 15% to 19~0 greater than for the similar months in the past. The Council having unanimou~ y waived the reading of the Resolution, it was moved by Councilman Gould and seconde~ by Hall, that the following Resolution entitled: '~qesolution No. 58-103 amending Resolutions No. 57-280 and No. 57-309 to modify parking prohibition on Main Street, First to Ninth Streets" be considered and passed. It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, that the motion be amended to change the dates to read "June l, 1958 to August 31, 1958". A roll call vote was taken on the amended motion: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., A.A.Hall, Dale H. Heinly Noes, Councilmen J. Ogden Markel Absent, Councilmen None Motion carried and the Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen S%anley C. Gould, Jr., A.A.Hall, Dale H. Heinly Noes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, J. Ogden Markel Absent, Councilmen None The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried~ the following Ordinance entitled "Ordinance No. NS-318 declaring the annexation of that certain territory designated 'Delhi and Main S.W. Annex'" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes~ Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H.
