<br />On motion of CouncJlmmn Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of
<br />
<br />Murphy K. Zlaket for abandonment of an alley running between Main and Bush Streets
<br />
<br />at the intersection of Buffalo and Main Streets, was tabled.
<br />
<br />The communication of the Chamber of Commerce approving the recommendation of its
<br />
<br />Parking Committee that the City alter present zoning regulations with regard to
<br />
<br />permissible off-street parking areas to include the east side of Sycamore Street
<br />
<br />from its southerly to its northerly limits at 17th Street and the west side of Bush
<br />
<br />Street from the Freeway on the north to First Street and the west side of Cypress
<br />
<br />from First Street to its southerly extremity at the city limits, in order that
<br />
<br />developers of commercial property on Main Street, can, without necessitating
<br />
<br />variance, acquire'Main Street properties and those to the rear facing on subject
<br />
<br />parallel streets for parking. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall
<br />
<br />and carried, the communication was referred to the Manager for recommendation.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of
<br />
<br />Reverend Ferguson A. Wilson to use a mobile sound vehicle to preach the gospel
<br />
<br />throughout the City was denied for the reason that the request was not specific as
<br />
<br />to the time and locations.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the matter of an
<br />
<br />appointment on the Library Board to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of
<br />
<br />Mrs. Mildred Browning was continued until the next meeting.
