/ 6'0 <br /> <br />Offer of Mrs. Odessa <br />Gilbank to purchase <br />certain property <br /> <br />Right of Entry to <br />construct bridge at <br />' Edinger Street <br /> <br />Advertise for bids <br />Restroom facilities <br />Adams School site etc <br /> <br />Communication <br />Assembly California <br />Legislature <br /> <br />Approve plans and <br />Specifications and <br />advertise for bids <br />Construct sewer on <br />Roe <br /> <br />Concession stands in <br />public parks <br /> <br />Notice of hearing <br />Revision of Traffic <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />Notice of hearing <br />Revision of water <br />rates ~ JS,~w~ <br /> <br />Extension of time <br />Griffith Company <br /> <br />Request <br />American Legion <br />Auxiliary <br /> <br />Application to <br />solicit funds <br />Orange County Assoc. <br />for Mental Health <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the Manager was <br /> directed to negotiate with Mrs. Odessa Gilbank in regard to her bid of $500.00 for <br /> the extra 30 feet of land which lies between her property and the railroad tracks <br /> and the Freeway at ~0th and Spurgeon Streets. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials <br /> were authorized to execute Right of Entry, dated May 5, 1958, granting the County <br /> of Orange and the Orange County Flood Control District permission to enter upon <br /> City property to construct bridge, approaches and appurtenant structures over the <br /> Santa Ana River at Edinger Street. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Purchasing <br /> Agent was authorized to advertise for bids as follows: <br /> <br /> Restroom facilities at AS~m$ School site, per Specification No. 672-8, <br /> Paint certain buildingsat the Community Center, per Specification No. 381-2, <br /> Furnishing of electric lamps, per Specificati6n No. 452-5, for the fiscal year <br /> starting July l, 1958, and <br /> Furnishing of gasoline for the fiscal year starting July l, 1958, per Specification <br /> No. 461-4; bids to be opened June 2, 1958. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the con~aunication <br /> from Assembly California Legislature transmitting a copy of House Resolution No. 89 <br /> adopted by the Assembly on April 23, 1958 advising there has been adopted in Flint, <br /> Michigan, a program known as the "Flint Formula"~ which is regarded as an important <br /> and practical device for alleviating the distress of persons unemployed by reason <br /> of the current recession, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the plans and specif: <br /> cations were approved and the Purchasing A~ent authorized to advertise for bids for <br /> the construction of a sanitary sewer on Roe Drive from Arnett Drive to a point <br /> approximately 360 feet east, Project No. P_I; bids to be opened June 2, 1958. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Officers of the <br />respective Little Leagues were granted permission to maintain concession stands and <br />sell refreshments in the public parks adjacent to ball diamonds during the baseball <br />season and in accordance with regulations established by the Department of Recreati <br />and Parks. <br /> <br />It was move~ by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, that a notice be <br />published for a public hearing to be held on June 16, 1958 on the revision of the <br />Traffic Ordinance. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, that a notice be <br />published for a public hearing to be held on June 16, 1958 on the revision of the <br />water rates. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of <br />Griffith Company was granted for an extension of thirty days from May 3, 1~58, in <br />which to complete the contract for the paving of McClay Street from Delhi Road to <br />730 feet north of Delhi Road, Project No. C-25. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by ~1 and carried, the request of <br />American Legion Auxiliary, Santa Ana Post No. 131, was granted to sell Poppies on <br />May 23 and May 2~, 1958. <br /> <br />On motion of Counci~m-n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the <br />0ranEe County Association for Mental Health was granted to conduct a fund campaign <br />for a two-hour period on May ~5, 1958, but if an application is submitted for next <br />year's solicitation, such application will have to be approved by the Orange County <br />Council of Ccmmunity Agencies. <br /> <br /> <br />
