<br />The Mayor announced this is the time and place for hearing evidence to determine
<br />
<br />whether the public convenience and necessity require the improvement of Main Street
<br />
<br />between Edinger Street and Delhi Road by the installation and placing in operation
<br />
<br />of an ornamental street lighting system including the installation of concrete
<br />
<br />lighting standards, mercury vapor type ltuainaires, ballasts, lamps, cable, conduitS,
<br />
<br />pull boxes, and appurtenant work thereto, in Assessment District No. 201, and asked
<br />the Clerk if she was in possession of the affidavit of publication and affidavit of
<br />
<br />posting. The Clerk stated she had the affidavit of publication and affidavit of
<br />
<br />posting, and on motion of Councilm~.u Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the
<br />
<br />affidavits were received and filed. The Clerk stated there were no written pro-
<br />
<br />tests. The Mayor asked if there, were any oral protests, and there being none, on
<br />
<br />motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and carried, the' hearing was closed.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Cotmcilman Gould,-~seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 58-130 of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha,
<br /> California, finding that the public convenimce and necessity require
<br /> 4
<br /> the improvement of Main Street within the C=ty of Santa Ana"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitle
<br />
<br />'Resolution No. 58-131 of the City Council of the City of Santa An~,
<br />California, declaring its intention to improve Main Street within
<br />the City of Santa Ana, and determining that bonds shall be issued
<br />to represent the cost therefor, and declaring the work to be of more
<br />than local or ordinary public benefit and that the expense thereof
<br />shall be assessed upon a district"
<br />
<br />setting the date of hearing on June 16, 1958, was considered and passed by the fol-
<br />
<br />lowing vote:

<br />This being the date set for hearing protests on the adoption and maintenance of
<br />
<br />master plans, precise plans and regulations; no written or oral protests were
<br />
<br />received. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the hearin
<br />
<br />was closed. It wasmoved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried,
<br />
<br />that the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br />"Ordinance changing the Chapter and Section numbers of that portion
<br />of the Santa Ana Municipal Code now designated Chapter I of Article
<br />IX and adopting Master Plan provisions as Chapter I of Article IX
<br />of said Code"
<br />
<br />be corrected by placing a "period" after the word "regulations" in line 7, Section
<br />
<br />9147.2, page 8, and deleting the last two words in line 7 and the remaining five
<br />
<br />lines of said Section. The Ordinance was introduced, considered and placed on
<br />
<br />file for second reading.
