C~T¥ OF SAXTA ANA <br /> <br />FACILITIES SUPERVISOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under genera/ supervision, supervises, coordinates and participates in the operation of the <br />municipal stadium and the repair and maintenance of the stadium, municipal pools and related <br />events facilities. <br /> <br />O~MPLE$ OF DUTIES <br /> <br />~certains needs of current and prospective tenants of the municipal stadium and schedules <br />zitable materials, equipment and manpower to prepare for events and operate the stadium <br />during events; plans, organizes, schedules, assigns, supervises and participates in the <br />maintenance and minor alteration and repair of the stadium structures, field turf and land- <br />scaping, and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment; supervises and <br />participates in the servicing of municipal pools and the maintenance and repair of pool <br />facilities and equipment including water beaters, pumps, sumps, filters, flow meters, auto- <br />matic water treatment devices, diving boards, slides, decking, fences, dressing and shower <br />facilities and emergency lifesaving equipment; personally performs semi-skilled to skilled <br />maintenance and repair work requiring the operation of a wide variety of hand and power <br />tools and. equipment; hires part-time events workers and trains and evaluates all assigned <br />personnel; enforces strict adherence to safe work practices and other safety regulations; <br />orders parts, materials, supplies and equipment; assists in the preparation of tbs annual <br />budget and controls expenditures; prepares time, activity and other records; prepares periodic <br />and special reports; and performs other related duties as required. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHIN~ FEATURES OFT~E CLASS <br /> <br />An incumbent of this class is responsible for supervising and participating in the semi- <br />stdlled to skilled ~anual work of several crews engaged in the genera/ maintenance and <br />~epair of specialized recreation facilities. Responsibility for the inspection, servicing, <br />~aintenance and repair of s~imming pools, facilities and equipment and the supervision of <br />the operation of the municipal stadium during the presentation of events requires an unusual <br />combination of specialized knowledge, skill and customer relations contacts not found in <br />other related maintenance classes. Work also involves the exercise of considerable inde- <br />p-ndent Judgement and discretion in carrying out assignments. <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDEDI~INIMUMQUALXFICATIONS <br /> <br /> Education equivalent to graduation from high school and three years' experience in the main- <br /> tenance,' repair and operation of stadiums or arenas and/or large public-use awl--ming facili- <br /> ties, including one year experience in a lead supervisory capacity; or any equivalent com- <br /> bination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills and <br /> abilities: <br /> <br /> Working knowledge of standard tools, methods, practices and materials of the several trades <br />~uvolved in the different operations or work assi~nments described above; the requirements <br /> mr preparing a etadiem or arena for the presentation of sport or other events and its <br /> persation during events; the care, maintenance and repair of ~wt---ing pools and equipment; <br /> md the hazards and safety precautions of the work in the trades areas, kchanica/ aptitude. <br /> kill and versatility in the performance of a variety of general maintenance and repair <br /> tasks. Ability to lead and instruct subordinates, establish and maintain cooperative <br /> working relationship with tentante of stadium, follow oral and witten instructions, and <br /> estt~-te material and labor needs. <br /> <br />39 <br /> <br /> <br />
