REL/fm <br />4/24/78 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-58 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING AND REGULATING FEES <br />AND CHARGES FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT <br /> OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />finds and determines that the fees and charges hereinafter <br />set forth are established in amounts sufficient to provide <br />revenue equal to the costs of administration and enforcement <br />of the provisions of Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code, and are reasonably and fairly allocated on the basis <br />of burdens imposed and benefits received by the persons <br />required to pay such fees and charges; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Aha that fees and charges for permits, <br />plan checks, inspections, and investigations pursuant to <br />Chapter 8, "Buildings and Structures," of the Santa Aha <br />Municipal Code are hereby established and regulated as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br /> (a) Unless otherwise provided, payment of fees <br />and charges as established herein shall be made to the <br />Director of Building Safety and Housing (hereafter "the <br />Director") or his authorized representatives at the time of <br />initial application or request for the permit or service for <br />which a fee or charge is imposed. No permit shall be issued <br />to any person, firm, or corporation unless all fees therefor <br />have been paid in full. <br /> <br />(b) Reinspection Fee. <br /> <br /> When any reinspection is required due to the <br />negligence of the permit holder, his agent, or other respon- <br />sible persons, or due to the failure of said parties to <br />comply with previous correction instructions, a fee of ten <br />dollars ($10.00) shall be charged by the Director prior to <br />each such reinspection. <br /> <br />(c) Special Investigation Fee <br /> <br /> A special investigation fee shall be charged <br />by the Director for any investigation of a building, structure, <br />work reports, certification, or any other related work <br />requested by an owner or his authorized agent. Said fee <br />shall be assessed in an amount sufficient to reimburse the <br />City for the costs incurred but in no case shall be less <br />than fifteen dollars ($15.00). <br /> <br />(d) Violation Investigation Fee. <br /> <br /> Whenever any work for which a permit is <br />required has been commenced without the authorization of <br />such permit, an investigation may be required before a <br />permit will be issued for such work. In addition to the <br />regular permit fee and any penalty fee, an investigation fee <br />shall be collected as follows: <br /> <br />When the Permit Fee is: <br /> <br />Investigation Fee <br /> <br />$15.00 or less .............................. $10.00 <br />More than $15.00 ............................ $25.00 <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
