No. 58-1¥1 Abolish one-hour parking on E.4th St. btn Garfield and Communication Chamber of C~merce MAY(Mt OF THE CItY OF MANTA AN~ The Council having t~nanimously w~ived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Counc!!m~n Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 58-170 declaring that an emergency exists, that , work of level~ the Santa Ama Civic Center site can be performed better and more economical 1 y by the City" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, St~!ey C. Gould, Jr., A.A.F-~I, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Ee!~nly Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Counct ]men None The Attorney or~]~y reported in regard to the petition signed by fifty-nine residents in the neighborhood of the Dairy Treat, 617 West First Street~ and stated the Polic, have made six arrests due to the noise and drinking in public. 0n motion of Counctlm~n Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the Attorney was instructed to interview the citizens in the area and submit a report as to his investigation at the next regular meeting. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on mo~ion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitle~: "Resolution No. 58-171 concerning parking lfmftations and curb ~kings in accordance therewith" abolishing the one-hour par~ng l~tations on both sides of East Fourth Street between Garfield Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railway, reference request of Brandon Manufacturing Corporation, etal, was considered and passed by the following Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Reinly Noe s, Counc t I men None Absent, Counct 1 men None " that C~nication was presented fr~n the Chamber of Commerce advising/the Board of Dir- ectors has taken note of the recent report that the National Safety Council magazin iists Santa Aha as the safest City (absence of traffic fatalities) in the eleven western states and second in the nation for the past three years on a first quarter basis. On motion of Counc!!mn~ Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communication was received and filed. On motion of Counct~m~ Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the City Council adjourned.
