<br />This being the date set for hearing on the 1958-59 Budget, no objections were pre-
<br />
<br />sented and the hearing was closed. On motion of Counci!~eu Hubbard, seconded by
<br />
<br />Hall and carried, the Budget for 1958-59 was adopted.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councftman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br />"Ordinance No. NS-329 adopting the ann,~al Budget for the fiscal year
<br />commencing July 1, 1958, and fixing the l~mttations of expenditures
<br />for the several funds and the functions, departments and activities
<br />carried on under such funds"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed as an emergency Ordinance by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr.,
<br /> A.A.Nall, Dele H. Neinly
<br />Noes, Councilmen None
<br />Absent, Councilmen J. Ogden Markel
<br />
<br />The Mayor announced this is the time and place for hearing evidence to determine
<br />whether the public convenience and necessity require the improvement of Sixth Street!
<br />between Hawley Street and a line 750 feet X westerly therefrom, said line being the
<br />north line of Tract No. 633; and the westerly portion of Hawley Street between Fifth
<br />
<br />Street and the north line of Tract No. 633, in Assessment District No. 203, and asker
<br />
<br />the Clerk if she was in possession of the affidavit of publication and affidavit of
<br />
<br />posting. The Clerk stated she had the affidavit of publication and affidavit of
<br />
<br />posting, and on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the
<br />
<br />affidavits were received and filed. The Clerk stated there were no written pro-
<br />
<br />tests. The Mayor asked if there were any oral protests, and there being none, on
<br />
<br />motion of Councilm~n Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the hearing was closed.

<br />The Council having unanfmously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by W~ll and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 58-174 of
<br />California, finding that
<br />the improvement of Sixth
<br />of Santa Ana"
<br />
<br />the City Council of the City of Santa Ana,
<br />the public convenience and necessity require
<br />Street and Hawley Street, all within the City
<br />
<br />in Assessment District No. 203, was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr.,
<br /> A.A.Hall, Dale R. Heinly
<br />Noes, Councilmen None
<br />Absent, Councilmen~ J. Ogden Markel

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br />'~esolution No. 58-175 of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha,
<br />California, declaring its intention t~ improve Sixth Street and
<br />Hawley Street within the City of Santa ~ua, and determining that
<br />bonds shall be issued to represent the cost therefor, and declaring
<br />the work to be of more than local or ordinary public benefit and
<br />that the expense thereof shall be assessed upon a district"
<br />
<br />in Assessment District No. 203, setting the date of hearing on August 18, 1958, was
<br />
<br />considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />The Mayor announced this is the time and place for hearing protests or objections
<br />
<br />against the street improvements on Oak Street, Kilson Drive, Hickory Street, St.
<br />
<br />Andrews Place and other streets as described in Resolution of Intention No. ~8-151,
<br />and asked the Clerk if she was in possession of the affidavit of publication, affi-
<br />
<br />davit of posting and affidavit of mailing. The Clerk stated she had the affidavits
<br />
