<br />way, in an R-3 District. Attorney Norman 8medegaar~, representing the applicant,
<br />favored the application ami called attention to the number of signs now in place on
<br />North Bx~a~way. 0n motion of Counc!l,~ Hubbard, seconded by Markel an~ carried,
<br />the matter was continued until the next meeting.

<br />a b,,~]ding at the northwest corner of McFadden Street and Standard Avenue, in an
<br />R-1 District, to be occupied by the business of a ,~rket (65' x ~0') and six ~m,~l
<br />shops (each approximately 25' x ~O') with a~equate off-street parking space, sub-
<br />Ject to conditions. J.E.Johnson, 854 McFadzlen Street, stated he represented the
<br />fifty-one protestants on the petition, and strenuously objected to a m-rket being
<br />built in the residential area near their h~mes. Kenneth R. Turtenwald, 8~
<br />McFadden Street, spoke a~out the noise an~ traffic resulting fr~a the operation of
<br />this type of bus~---ss. Berb Rys~-, 902 McFad~len Street, also objected to the
<br />granting of the variance and the proposed alley in front of his house. Attorney
<br />Smedegaax~, representing the ~ant, informed the Council that a .m.11 m, rket
<br />is needed in the section and it would be operated as a Tiny Tim Market. I)e stated
<br />that Mr. Nal I has no objection to constructing the solid block w-11 before starting
<br />construction of the b,,tldiug and the property has a four-lane highway on each side.
<br />It was moved by Oounctlm-- Hubbard, seconde~ by w.]], that the variance be approved
<br />subject to the cond/tions of the Planning Ommaission and the Depa~-tment of Public
<br />
