<br />On rec.',~-~ndation of the c~-m~ttee and on motion of Cov21ci~m~n Hubbard, seconded by
<br />Gould and carried, the low bid of United States Pipe & Foundry Co., at the total
<br />price of $80,255.00, and at the unit prices, was accepted and the other bid rejected.
<br />This bet-~ the date set for hearing on the proposed Master Plan of Streets and
<br />Highways, in accor~snce with the provisions of Section 65~62 of the State Conservation
<br />and Plannin~ Act and Section 9~.1 of the Fanicipal Code; no protests were received.
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Counctlm~- Hubbard, seconded by g~ll and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />This being the date set for hearing on annexation to the City of certain uninhabited
<br />territory designated '~linger and Center N. Annex"; no written protests were received.
<br />Mr. Virgil Elkins, 2210 North Poplar Street, objected orally to having his property
<br />--nexed to the City of Santa ~-, because of the assessed valuation of the complete
<br />--~exation and requested information on the type of zoning of the property. Mrs.
<br />Albert Lewis, l~.l East Ed~Eer Street protested against the property being taken
<br />into the City as R-1 District and was informed that she could conduct her Real
<br />
<br />Estate business as a non-conforming use without having the property rezoned if and
<br />when the property is an---~ed. The May~r closed the hearing. On motion of Council-
<br />w~, Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:

<br /> design~ted 'Edinger and Center N. Annex'"
<br />
<br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, Map of Tract No.
<br />
<br />2~B7 filed by Barton Mortgage C~npany for $~e dedication of McFadden Street, Minnie
<br />Street and alleys, also access rights on McFadden Street, except of street inter-
<br />section, and bond in the -m~uut of $50,000.00 were approved, license tax in the
<br />sum of $2,000.00 accepted and agreement coveriag improvements was ordered signed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, Revised Tentative
<br />
<br />Map of Tract No. 24~2 filed by ~,~-t~E~m Company on property consiett-g of approx-
<br />imately 20 acres, bounded on the north by Chestnut Street, on the west by a line
<br />approximately ~00 feet west of the S.P.Railrond, on the east by a line appro~mately
<br />~96 feet west of the $.P.Eailroad and on the south by a line approxtm-tely 21~2
<br />feet south of Chestnut Street, was approved subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Coun¢~lm,n Hubbard~ secol~ed by Markel and carried, Map of Tract No.
<br />
<br />~205 filed by E~et C. Rogers for the dedication of Louise Street between 19th and
<br />2~nd Streets was approved without bond, and license tax in the sun of $750.00 accepted.
<br />On recommendation of the Planning C.-~.~mt~sion and on motion of Counct~m~- Gould,
<br />seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of George L. Taney was granted for a
<br />ninety-day extension of time on Variance Application No. 970, granted April 7, 1958,
<br />to permit construction of building on property situated at 17~0 East 17th Street to
<br />be used forrestnurant and one retail-type store.
