CTD/fm <br />12/14/78 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-2 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA <br />HIGHWAY PATROL TO PROVIDE MOTORCYCLE AND <br />ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION TRAINING FOR SANTA ANA <br />POLICE TRAFFIC OFFICERS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on May 6, 1974, the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 74-73 authorizing the <br />Chief of Police to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide motorcycle training for Santa Ana <br />police officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana on <br />September 15, 1975 adopted Resolution No. 75-137, authorizing <br />the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Aha police <br />traffic officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on February 22, 1977, The City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 77-21, authorizing <br />the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police <br />traffic officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforesaid agreements were entered into <br />pursuant to said resolutions and Santa Aha police officers <br />participated in training programs offered by the California <br />Highway Patrol for motorcycle officers and accident investi- <br />gations, and said training programs achieving results satis- <br />factory to the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City wishes to continue to participate in <br />such programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol requires the <br />approval of the City before Santa Ana police officers may <br />continue to attend said training programs. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that said Council hereby approves <br />the participation of the Santa Ana Police Department in the <br />Accident Investigation Training Program and the Motorcycle <br />Training Program offered by the California Highway Patrol <br />and authorizes the City Manager to execute, from time to <br />time during fiscal year 1978-79, accident investigation <br />training agreements and motorcycle training agreements with <br />the California Highway Patrol. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED, this 8th day of January <br />1979, by the following vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: COUNCILMEN: Brandt, <br /> Garthe, <br /> NOES: CO~CILI~NI None <br /> <br /> MAYOR <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE 'COU~IL~ <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />Bricken, Evans, <br />Ward, Yamamoto <br /> <br /> <br />
