RESOLUTION NO. 79-1] <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA <br />HIGHWAY PATROL TO PROVIDE MOTORCYCLE AND <br />ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION TRAINING FOR SANTA ANA <br />POLICE TRAFFIC OFFICERS. <br /> <br /> WHEIIEAS, on May 6, 1974, the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Aha adopted Resolution No. 74-73 authorizing the <br />Chief of Police to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide motorcycle training for Santa Ana <br />police officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana on <br />September 15, 1975, adopted Resolution No. 75-137, authorizing <br />the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic <br />officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on February 22, 1977, the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 77-21, authorizing <br />the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California <br />Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic <br />officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on January 8, 1979, the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 79-2, authorizing the City <br />Manager to enter into agreements with the California Highway <br />Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic <br />officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforesaid agreements were entered into pursuant <br />to said resolutions and Santa Ana police officers participated in <br />training programs offered by the California Highway Patrol for <br />motorcycle officers and accident investigations, and said training <br />programs achieving results satisfactory to the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to participate in such <br />programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol requires the approval <br />of the City before Santa Ana police officers may continue to attend <br />said training programs. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that said Council hereby approves the <br />participation of the Santa Ana Police Department in the Accident <br />Investigation Training Program and the Motorcycle Training Program <br />offered by the California Highway Patrol and authorizes the City <br />Manager to execute, from time to time during fiscal year 1979-80. <br />accident investigation training agreements and motorcycle training <br />agreements with the California Highway Patrol. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED, this 16th <br />1979, by the following vote: <br /> <br />day of July , <br /> <br />AYES: COUNCIL~N: Griset, Luxembourger, <br /> Markel, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />NOES: COUNCIL~N: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Bricken · ! , <br /> <br />~EIT~ L.
