<br />the Department of Public Works was approved for the reimbursement of $3,790.79 to

<br />D. W. Edwards, Subdivider of Tract No. 3353, for street improvements in excess of
<br />
<br />that normal~y required for residential streets, in accordance with Section 7214
<br />
<br />of the Mauicipal Code.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councllma~ ~ubbard, seconded by Gould amd carried, proper officials
<br />
<br />were authorized to execute agreement with the State of California, Department of
<br />
<br />Public Works, Division of Highways, for inst-~]ation of highway lighting at the
<br />
<br />intersections of Eighth Street, Tenth Street, Fifteenth Street, Seventeenth Street
<br />amd Washington AVenue with North Main Street (State Route VII-0ra-18~-SA).
<br />
<br />The Council having ,mantm~usly waived the r~ading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Counc!]m~ ~bbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution
<br />
<br />entitled:
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 58-298 approving agreement between City of Santa Aha
<br />and the State of California for participation by said parties in
<br />street lighting cost on certain portions of North Main Street in
<br />said City"
<br />
<br />at the intersections of Eighth, Tenth, Fifteenth and Seventeenth Streets, and
<br />
<br />Washington Avenue, with State Highway Route VII-Ora-184-Santa Aha (North Main
<br />

<br />~a~-ges of T. L. "w--k" Givens and Jessie Givens, ~ba Sauta Aha Independent, in

<br />the sum of $4000.00, for termination of legal advertising contract for the fiscal
<br />
<br />year beginning July 1, 1958, was denied with regrets.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counct~m,~ F~Abbard, seconded by Gould and ear, led, the claim for
<br />
<br />damages of the State of California, Department of Public Works, Division of High-
<br />
<br />ways, in the appro~tm-te sum of $400.00, reference to 8" water main blowing up at
<br />
<br />the Santa Aha Freeway and Lincoln 0/P, causing dirt and debris to be washed onto
<br />
<br />the highway and into pump wells, was referred to the City Manager for appropriate
<br />
<br />action.

<br />The Council hav~ng~ unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of i
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
