<br />It was moved by Councilman F~l~, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that the Minute
<br />Order dated November 3, 1958, reference Variance Application No. 1006 of Julian
<br />S~lly Bowles, to c~the wording from "to tear down" be changed to "to correct t~
<br />Municipal Code", in regard to the removal of existing carports on property at 413
<br />East Chestnut Street. Councilmeu Markel disq,,ml ified himself. It was moved by
<br />Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that the matter of the Use and
<br />Occupancy Permit be referred to the Administrative Staff for their determination.
<br />It was moved by Co,,ncilm~n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that action be
<br />continued until ~anuary 5, 1959 on Variance Application No. 1042 filed by G. Howard
<br />Robertshaw.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendatio~
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1047 of Santa
<br />Aha Medical Arts, Inc., granted to permit construction of a medical and dental
<br />center, with pharmacy, restaurant and compatible retail stores on a 15-acre site
<br />situated at the northeast corner of 17th and Lincoln Streets, in R-1 and R-2 Dis-
<br />tricts, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Counc~lm~n Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recc~mendatio~
<br />of the Planning Co~mission was approved and Variance Application No. 1048 of ~
<br />Marie ~arr and Beulah Fay Lee granted to permit the use of property situated at 50~
<br />East Anahurst Place, in R-1 District, for a convalescent nursing home Increasing the
<br />number from five to ten elderly persons, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the reco~m~endatioz
<br />of the Planning Co~ission was approved and Variance Application No. 1050 of Fermi!
<br />Chavez granted to permit cons truction of a one-story, two-bedroum dwelling, with
<br />attached garage, on rear of property at 601 East Adams Street, in R-1 District, to
<br />provide new living quarters and to abandon the small quarters back of his store at
<br />this location, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendatioz
<br />of the P]~nlng Cr, m, ission was approved and Variance Application No. 1052 of Clara
<br />E. Vose granted to permit cons truction of a service station for The Texas Company
<br />on property situated at the southwest corner of Bristol Street and Memory Lane, in
<br />an R-1 District, subject to conditions and the further com~ition that there be an
<br />tmm~-diate dedication of street easement for the ultimate site for a traffic sign~l.li
<br />Paul Hales, representing Frank and Maria Campos on Variance Application No. 1053
<br />to permit the use of property at 2B20 and 2322 South Evergreen Street, for a duple~i
<br />which has been moved onto the property, requested permission to leave the garage
<br />its present location. On motion of Councilman Hal l, seconded by Hubbard and car-
<br />ried, the reccmm~ndation of the Planning C~mm~ssion was approved and the Variance
<br />Application granted subject to conditions, except that the garage need not be re-
<br />located.

<br />On motion of Councilmen Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation

<br />Waltz granted to permit construction of a two-story, nine-unit apartment building,
<br />with four one-bedroum and five two-bedroom apartments on property situated at 1027
<br />and 1029 North Parton Street, in R-2 District, subject to the conditions, with the
