Gould, Jr., A. A. Hall, <br />J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly ~ <br />Royal E. Hubbard ii <br /> <br /> The Mayor stated this adjourned meeting had been called for the purpose of consider- <br /> <br />ation with respect to the "West Santa Ama Annex". <br /> <br />The Mayor asked the Clerk if <br /> <br />she had received any additional protests amd She stated she had received additional <br /> <br />protests and withdrawals and presented her written report to the Council showing <br /> <br />that during this ten day period additional protests representing $137,850.00 were <br /> <br />filed with the City, making a total of all protests filed $337,~20.00. ~lso prior <br />to said 5:0~1 ?, M,: continued meeting the City received withdrawal protests repre- <br /> <br />senting $20,730.00, which leaves protests of $~16,690.00 now filed protesting agains~ <br /> <br />the election in said territory. The total assessed value of~ said territory is <br /> <br />$1,969,2~0.00, which does not include any publicly owned~t or 16~ of the value of <br /> <br />the territory prot~sting against the election. On motion of Councilman Gould, <br /> <br />seconded by Hall and carried, the additional protests were received and filed. On <br /> <br />motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the withdrawal protests <br /> <br />Reso. No. 59-14 <br />Calling Special Municipal <br />Election - "West Santa Ana <br /> <br />were received and filed. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 59-14 calling a Special Municipal Election to be <br />held on the 10th day of March, 1959, to submit to the electors <br />in that certain territory designated 'West Santa Ama Annex' the <br />question of whether or not said territory should be annexed to <br />the City of Santa ~na, California, declaring that protest had <br />not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of said <br />territory, changing the boundaries of said territory to delete <br />therefrom that territory within Garden Grove Annexation No. 63, <br />and resubmitting the boundaries as changed to the Orange County <br />Boundary Comm~ission" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Mark Walker, re~r~sentative <br />WillowickGolf. Course <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., A. A. Hall, <br /> J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />Noe s, Counc ilme n None <br />Absent, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard <br /> <br />Mr. Mark Walker, representative of Willowick Golf Course requested that the Golf <br /> <br />Course be eliminated from the "West Santa Ama Annex" as under the Annexation Laws <br /> <br />the same is less than 5% of the total area. The Council declined to take action <br /> <br />Continued hearing <br />"Sullivan and Edinger <br /> <br />to remove said area. <br />The Mayor asked the Clerk if any protests had been received with respect to the <br />"Sullivan and Edinger Annex", and she stated none had been received and presented <br /> <br />her written report to that effect. <br /> <br /> <br />
