Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />April 6, 1959. ?:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmen <br />Absent: Councf 1 men <br /> <br />Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould~ Jr., <br />A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />None <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend Robert Bonh~l 1 of the Church of The Messiah. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of March <br />16 and March 23, 1959, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried. <br /> <br />.Bids <br /> Construct Mayor's Office <br /> and Planning Department <br /> on third floor City Hall <br /> <br />The Manager recom"~°nded that all bids submitted for construction of the Mayor's <br />Office and Planning Department to be built on the third floor of the C~ty Hall be <br />rejected due to the excessive cost. On motion of Counc~lmau Hubbard, seconded by <br />Gould and carried, all bids were rejected and bonds ordered returned in view of the <br /> <br />fact that the City Council considered the amount of money involved was not justified <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />30 ornamental lighting <br />standards for use on <br />No. Main St. btn 7th <br />and 15th Sts. <br /> <br />under the circumstances. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented for the furnishing and delivering of thirty <br /> <br />ornamental lighting standards for use on North Main Street between Seventh and <br /> <br />Fifteenth Street, Specificatiom No. 642-6, as follows: <br /> Total <br /> <br />Econolite Corporation <br />Pacific Union Metal Company <br />Electric Supplies Distributing Co. <br />of Santa Aha <br />Joslyn Pacific Co. <br /> <br />5,066.57 <br /> <br />5,066· 57 <br />5,066.57 <br /> <br />On~tion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the bid of Electric <br /> <br />Supplies Distributing Company of Santa Ann, in the sum of $5,066.57 was accepted and <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />ReConstruction of Oak <br /> Street between Bishop <br /> and Myrtle Streets <br /> Project C-33 <br /> <br />the other bids rejected. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented for the reconstruction of Oak Street between <br /> <br />Bishop and Myrtle Streets, Project C-33, as follows: <br /> Total <br /> <br />R.J.Noble Ccmpany <br />Sully-Miller Contracting Co. <br />Griffith Co. <br />Uox Bros. Noble <br /> <br />Cc~pany, in the total amount of $2382.45, and at the unit prices specified in their <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />One Special 16" <br />valve <br /> <br />bid, was accepted and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented'for the furnishing and delivering of one (1) <br /> <br />Special 16" valve, for M,W~D. vault at Bristol and: Talbert, Specification 621-17, <br />as follows: Total <br /> <br />Crane Co. 109 bid bond <br />The Republic Supply Co. of <br />California 2228.55 $250.00 check <br />Valves Incorporated 2251.08 -- <br />Chas. A. Estey 2250.56 -- <br />Cla -Val Co. 2268.76 -- <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel ~ carried, the low bid of <br /> te~ms ~,~. lOth prox., <br />Crane Company, in the total amount of $2251.08~was accepted and ,11 other bids <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Two four-door <br />sedans <br /> <br />rejected. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented for the furnishing of two four-door sedans, <br /> <br />Specification 621-17, as follows: <br /> <br /> Total <br />C~ B~ :.
