Heinly Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None The Council having ~m~nimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 59-78 concerning parking limitations and curb markings in accordance therewith" establishing a vision zone on the north side of 17th Street between Colic ge and Aloha Street, reference requeSt of State Farm Insurance Company, was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stan3ey C. Gould, Jr., A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly Noes, CounciLmen None Absent, Councilmen None On motion of Counct~m~r, Hubbard, seconded, by GOuld and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance establishing the prima facie speed limit on portions of King Street and Lyon Street" w~s introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of approximately thirteen residents in the 1400 block South Baker Street was ~enied that a survey be conducted by the Traffic Division to determine parking facilities for students driving cars to Mater Del High School and that "No School Parking" signs be placed in the 1400 block of South Baker Street; the Clerk was instructed to advise the first signer on the petition of Council action. Andrew Bey~r, 1437 South Baker Street, stated the students from Mater Dei High School park in front of residances in the area neighboring the school w~en there is adequate parking around the school, creating a hardship on the residents of the area. It was moved by Councilm~n Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, that the Mayor be instructed to write a letter to the Father at the Mater Del High School requesting him to ask the co=' operation of the students to park around the school and not in the neighboring area. On recommendation of the Department of Public Works and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the request of the Standard 0il Company was granted to eliminate two 20-foot approaches and install one approach approximately 80-feet long, .being 'the full length of the property at Tenth and Main Streets. On motion of Councilm~n Hall, seconded by GOuld and carried, the request of William D. Greschner Company was granted for two 40-foot driveways and one 20-foot driveway at the Medical Arts Center, 17th and Lincoln Streets, in accordance with condition No. 2 of Variance Application No. 1047 granted December 15, 1958. On motion of Councilm~u Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and specifications w~re approved for the widening of North Main Street from 7th to 15th Streets and from 18th Street to the Freeway. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hal ] and carried, that a payment, as a retainer fee, in the sum of $1100.00 to Attorney Robert S. Barnes, be approved pursuant to agreement entered into March 16, 1959, in the matter of McClurkin versus the City of Garden Grove.
