<br /> The Council, having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution en-
<br /> titled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 59-95 declaring yield right-of-way intersection"
<br /> establishing yield signs at intersection of Cypress and Pomona Streets requiring
<br /> traffic on Pomona to yield to ~ypress and providing vision zones on all four
<br /> corners, as recommended by the Department of Public ~orks, was considered and
<br /> passed by the following vote:

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould a~d carried, the request of
<br /> the Douglas Oil Company was approved for two oversize drive, in, s on Seventeenth
<br /> Street and one on King Street, for service station to be constructed at the
<br /> southeast corner of Seventeenth and King Streets.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, Councilman Stanley
<br /> C. Gould, Jr.was granted permission to leave the State from april 26, 1959, to
<br /> June 2, 1959.

<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilm~n. Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution
<br /> entitled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 59-96 authorizing execution of agreement
<br /> with the County of Orange for temporary ocenpancy of two
<br /> fire stations by the City of Santa Aha in newly annexed
<br /> areas'

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Manager was
<br />authorized to negotiate with James M. montgomery, Gonsulting Engineer, for
<br />engineering services in connection with a study of water reo~irements in the
<br />newly annexed territories and inventory of water works plants presently existing
<br />in said areas.

<br />On motica of Councilman hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Manager was
<br />authorized to send a message to Assemblymen Bruce Sumner and Richard T. Hanna opp-
<br />o.sing Assembly Bill No. 919 which is an atte~t to transfer control of fire services
<br />to less responsive authority and grants unlimited tax/rig powers, and opposing
<br />Assembly Bill No. 602 which is an effort to transfer control by elected repre-
<br />sentatives to non-elected and non-responsible private individuals.
