<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion
<br />of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance
<br />entitled:

<br /> "Ordinance No. NS-377 amending Section 2517 of the
<br /> Santa Ana Municipal Code providing compensation for
<br /> members of the Planning Con.~ssion"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion
<br />of Councilma~ Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance
<br />entitled:

<br /> "Ordinance No. NS-378 establishing uniform speed limits
<br /> on ~dinger Otreet, Fifth Street, ~'est Seventeenth Street,
<br /> Greenville Street, Berrydale Street, Harbor ~oulevard and
<br /> l~ewhope Otreet"

<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />The ~ayor stated he had met with representatives of the Down-Town Business
<br />
<br />~en's Association, the First Street Improvement ~ssociation, the ~ity
<br />
<br />Manager, and the ketail Division of the Chamoer of Commerce, and it was the
<br />consensus of opinion that a survey should be made within O0 days in regard
<br />to traffic and business conditions on one-way streets; each group making
<br />an independent report, and the records of t~e zt~ would be made available
<br />to them for that purpose. It was moved by Councilman Hall, seconded Oy
<br />
<br />Brewer and carried that the oral report be accepted.

<br />It was moved by Coancilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried that new
<br />sections be added to the Santa Ana ~unicipal ~ode regulating pawn brokers,
<br />that the Council declare its intention to make such addition to said Code
<br />and the matter be continued to July 6, 1959, for final study of an Ordinance;
<br />that between now and July 6, 1959, the City ~anager be instructed to notify
<br />the departments not to issue any pawn broker's license pending the adoption
<br />of this Ordinance.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Mayor was
<br /> authorized to execute amendment of agreement with the Orate Ooard of
<br /> Equalization modifying the current agreement for accelerated transmittal
<br /> of local sales tax collections.
<br />
<br />A petition was read signed by approximately ~ persons requesting the City
<br />Council to do all things necessary to provide sanitary sewer main and laterals
<br />within the public right-of-way to serve all the numbered lots in Tract 1298
<br />on property located west of Harbor Ooulevard between Sugar Otreet a~d Smeltzer
<br />Avenue, in Assessment District l~o. 206. On motion of ~ounci]m~an Huobard,
<br />seconded by Gould and carried, the matter was referred to the ~anager for
<br />
<br /> investigation and report.
