<br />The Co~cil having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of
<br />
<br />Co~etlman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br />"Ordinance No. NS-387 amending Section 9250 of the Santa Aha
<br />Mmmicipal Code by repealing parts thereof, which said parts
<br />have been superse~ded by the establishment of future right of
<br />way lines"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Ordinance
<br />
<br />entitled:
<br />
<br />"Ordinance adding new Sections to the Santa~Ana Municipal
<br />Code to regulate the licensing of Pawnbrokers"
<br />
<br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading, and that the word
<br />
<br />"two" in Section 6~91.7 be changed to "any" and the hours as set forth in Section
<br />
<br />6B91.9 be changed to read "from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.".
<br />
<br />On motion of COll~C~lm~ Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Ordinance amending
<br />
<br />Chapter 2 of Article IIY of the Santa Ana Municipal Code relating to traffic
<br />regulations was referred to Councilman Stanley C. Gould, Jr., for re.p~rt on
<br />
<br />September 21, 1959.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance
<br />
<br />entitled:

<br />"Ordinance designating the intersection of Westminster Avenue
<br /> ~m~ Verano Avenue in the City of Santa Aha as a County Highway"
<br />
<br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following co, suni-

<br /> Fro~ J. Wayne Harrison, owner of properties adjoining the east and south sides
<br />of City property located at the southeast corner of Delhi and Main Streets, request-
<br />ing a possible sale of the property at an early date,
<br />
<br /> From Gordon R. Hahn, Chairman, Civil Defense and Military Affairs Committee,
<br />Los Angeles, advising of a hearing on atc~ic attack survival to be held in the
<br />Assembly Hall of the State Building in Los Angeles on August 19 and 20, and extend-
<br />ing an invitation to send one or two representatives to attend the meeting,
<br />
<br /> From the Boundary Com~ission reference proposed annexation of territory to the
<br />City of Santa ~na "McFadden and Tustin S. W. Annex" of property consisting of approx-
<br />Imately 71 acres, situated on the south side of McFadden Avenue and the west side of
<br />Tustin Avenue, and advising the boundaries of the proposed annexation are reasonably
<br />definite and certain,

<br /> From the County Clerk submitting certified copy of Resolution No. 59-810, dated
<br />July 21, 1959, advising all portions of Westminster Avenue and Verano Street lying
<br />within 200 feet of the intersection of Westminster Avenue and Verano Street lying
<br />within the City limits of Garden Grove and Santa Ana are declared to be County
<br />highways during the period of improvement of said ~ad~ by the County of Orange,
<br />
<br /> Petition signed by approximately 45 persons requesting the City to do all
<br />things necessary to provide sidewalks, curb and gutter, pavement, grading appurt-
<br />enances and app~u~tenant work where necessary to meet City standards, on Golden West
<br />Avenue as shown on a Map of Tract No. 604, from the south line of Fairview Avenue
<br />to the north line of Wilshire Avenue,
<br />
<br /> Communications from seven property owners and/or residents on Parsons Place,
<br />Bernia Avenue, 0akfield Avenue and Sunswept Avenue, requesting removal of the area
<br />from "West Santa Aha Annex" and from incorporation into the City of Santa Aha,
<br />
<br /> From Mrs. T. R. Black protesting the proposed building of a City ~ course
<br />and stadium due to excessive t~x~s,
<br />
<br /> From Attorney N. H. Smedegaard, representing the First Street Improvement
<br />Association, advising that at the last meeting of the Board of Directors a resolution
<br />was adopted and it was resolved that all one-way streets be discontinued as soon as
<br />practical arrangements can be made therefor,
<br />
<br /> From LeRoy H. Brettin, Co-Chairman of Santa Ana Downtown Association, advising
<br />that the first attempt to formally organize will be next week and because the
<br />present group is small, it is not advisable to discuss an opinion on one-way streets
<br />at this time, and requesting a thirty day delay in making their report,
