On motion of Councilm~u Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the Department of Public Works w~s approved for an additional cash payment of $210.00 for release of obligation set forth in escrow instructions clmted March 12, 1959, signed by Ray S. and Dominga Aguinaga, for street easement at northwest corner of Eighth and Artesia Streets, wherein the City agreed under paragraph "B" of escrow instructions, to pay expense of remodeling store front at 802 North Artesia Street, Reso. No. 59-210 Expressing opposition to reapportion the California State Senate and the City Attorney instructed to prepare the necessary release. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 59-210 of the City of Santa Ana expressing opposition to an initiative constitutional amendment to reapportion the California State Senate" was considered and passed by the following vote: Plans and Specifications Advertise for bids Project No. 32 and Project C-39 Ayes, Count1 lw~u Noes, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen Royal E. Heinly Bob Brewer None On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and specifications w~re approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids for construction of West Ditch between Edinger and First Streets, Project ~2; and the plans and specifications were approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids for the widening of Eighth Street between Parton and Ross Streets, and Ross Street from Eighth to approx!m~tely 260 feet south, and paving Plan and profile construct extension of Greenville-Banning Channel Four arterial hlghw~y agreements between the County and City: First, McClay, Fifth and Main Streets a parking lot west of the Library, Project C-39; bids to be opened September.~ 8, 1959. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plan and profile was approved showing the proposed construction of t~ extension of the Greenville- Banning Channel between Delhi Road and Edinger Street. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, proper officials ware authorized to execute the four arterial highway agreements between the County of Orange and the City, namely: Main Street between the Santa Ana Freeway and the north City limits, First Street between the Santa Aha River Bridge and Townsend Street, Fifth Street between the Pacific Electric Railroad tracks, west of Hawley Street and the west City limits, and McClay Street between McFadden Street and Chamber of Commerce Request for ~§ ~ Chestnut Avenue. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of the Santa Aha Chamber of C~rce for an allocation of $3,500.00 for the Annual Christmas Street decorations, was received and filed.
