<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of

<br /> "Resolution No. 59-270 declaring yield right-of-way intersection and
<br /> concerning parking limitations and curb markings in accordance
<br /> therewith"

<br />installing "Yield Right-of-Way" signs designating Pacific Avenue to "Yield" to
<br />Walnut Street and establishing vision zones, was considered and passed by the fol-
<br />lowing vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by B~ewer and carried, the communication
<br />from Mrs. Morton J. Levand, Secretary of John Adams School-PTA, requesting that
<br />crosswalks, traffic controls, and safety aids be provided at various points along
<br />Greenville Street, so that children can cross this heavily traveled street with
<br />safety, was referred to the Manager fc~ investigation and repc~t.

<br />On recommendation of the Depaa~hment of Public Wor~s, and on motion of Councilman
<br />Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried,the request of Mrs. Minnie Parrish, 120 E.
<br />llth Street, was denied for a parking space in front of her State hoarding home for
<br />elderly W°men.
<br />

<br />On motion of Councilmau Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the report from
<br />Parks and Recreation Department, reference request of Mrs. Priscilla Worcester,
<br />Chairman Recreation Ccmmittee, for additicual land to be purchased for Parks and
<br />Recreation surrounding John Adams School-Park was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the oral request
<br />
<br />of Ma~or A. Allen Hall was granted to leaw the City from October 15 to November l~
<br />1959.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the members of the
<br />City Council were granted permission to leave the City to attend the 61st Annual
<br />Conference of the League of California Cities at San Francisco, to be held October
<br />
<br />18 through 21, 1959.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried,the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of the Co~unity Recreation
<br />Building in E1 Salvador Park; bids to be opened November 2, 1959.
