E. Fowler of Royal Cleaners, ~corner of Fourth and Patton Streets, for the estab- lishment of a loading zcue on Patton Street, and the request of Lorin Griset, 224 W. 5th Street, for relocation of the loading zone located at 116-122 North Syca- more Street, were referred to the Manager for study and recc~mendationo Councilman Gould left the meeti~ at 10:20 P.M. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Counctlw~u Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Reaolution entitled: "Resolution No. 59-270 declaring yield right-of-way intersection and concerning parking limitations and curb markings in accordance therewith" installing "Yield Right-of-Way" signs designating Pacific Avenue to "Yield" to Walnut Street and establishing vision zones, was considered and passed by the fol- lowing vote: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by B~ewer and carried, the communication from Mrs. Morton J. Levand, Secretary of John Adams School-PTA, requesting that crosswalks, traffic controls, and safety aids be provided at various points along Greenville Street, so that children can cross this heavily traveled street with safety, was referred to the Manager fc~ investigation and repc~t. On recommendation of the Depaa~hment of Public Wor~s, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried,the request of Mrs. Minnie Parrish, 120 E. llth Street, was denied for a parking space in front of her State hoarding home for elderly W°men. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolntic~ entitled~ "Resolution No. 59-271 concerning parki~ limitations and curb markings in accordance therewith" to establish a loading zome as requested by Ted Tarantino, 1760 S. Main Street, was considered and passed by the following vote~ Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Dale H. Heinly~ Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr. On motion of Councilmau Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the report from Parks and Recreation Department, reference request of Mrs. Priscilla Worcester, Chairman Recreation Ccmmittee, for additicual land to be purchased for Parks and Recreation surrounding John Adams School-Park was received and filed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the oral request of Ma~or A. Allen Hall was granted to leaw the City from October 15 to November l~ 1959. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the members of the City Council were granted permission to leave the City to attend the 61st Annual Conference of the League of California Cities at San Francisco, to be held October 18 through 21, 1959. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried,the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of the Co~unity Recreation Building in E1 Salvador Park; bids to be opened November 2, 1959.
