<br />Southern Orange County Chapter, for a period of thirty months, as provided under th~
<br />option terms of the current lease which expires October 31, 1959, to occupy certain i
<br />quarters at 1104 W. 8th Street.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the application of
<br />Jack Fisher Chapter 23, Disabled American Veterans, for permission to solicit funds
<br />and sell Forget-me-not blossoms on November 6th and 7th, 1 959, was granted.
<br />Communication was read from the Sully-Miller Contracting Co~pany, requesting post-
<br />ponement of starting date on their contract for Project C-39 (widening of Eighth
<br />
<br />Street) until such time as the Edison Company has cleared the rights of way, estzma~
<br />~d to be about the 23rd or 26th of October, and the matter ~ras taken off the
<br />
<br />calendar.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the Purchasing
<br />for Police use
<br />Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing of 8~ four-door Sedan~
<br />
<br />2, 1/2-ton Pick-up Trucks; 2, 9000# G.V.W. Truck Chassis W/Cab;and
<br />
<br />Chassis W/Cab, Specification No. 621-19; bids to be opened November 16~ 1959.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the petition from

<br />The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, requesting a permit for the con-
<br />
<br />struction, maintenance and operation of two sp~r tracks across Ritchey Street, for
<br />
<br />the proposed new plant of The Deardorff-Jackson Company, was received, filed and
<br />
<br />referred to the Manager for report.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, Seconded by GoUld and carried, the written recom-
<br />mendation of the Manager, dated October 15, 1959, for salary step increases for four~
<br />
<br />employees, effective November 1, 1959, was approved.

<br />Consideration of appointment to Co~mission of the Santa Ana Vehicle Parking Districl
<br />
<br />No. 1 was taken off the calendar.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbo~d, seconded by Brewer and carried, the claim of ~
<br />
<br />Banuelos, on behalf of her son, Rudolph Banuelos, in the amount of $1,200.O0 for
<br />
<br />alleged detention and questioningly the Police Department, was referred to the
<br />
<br />Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
