Hall Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None Co~,unication was read from the Planning C~maission recommending denial of Variance Application No. 1258, filed by Glenn O. and Mary Edith Wing, to erect a single-story duplex, on property at 1516 No. Rosewood Avenue~ in the R-1 District. Webb Brown, Realtor, 1701 No. Flower Street, representing the applicant, advised this is vacaut property, with orange trees, and there have been numerous health reports due to decayed fruit and weeds. His client desires to build a single-story duplex, at a cost of $18,500.00, as there are other duplexes iu the area, and the property would be too valuable, for a single-family house on it. Maurice H. Gerard, 1510 N. Rose- wood, presented a petition signed by fourteen persons, protesting a change from the R-1 to the R-2 District~ and stated this area was designated for single-family dwellings, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the petition was received and filed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried~ the recommendation of the Planning Co~ais~ion was approved and Variance Application No. 1258 denied. Backman, dated February 1, 1960, requesting a ninety-day extension of time on Variance Application No. ll09, which expired Feb- ~%-ry 18: 1960, to use the garage for business of new home construction on property at ~09 Linwood AVenue~ in the R-2 Distrlct~ a.n d o n motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the extension of time was granted. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Revised Tentative Tract Map No. 3679, filed by Henry Cox, creating llB single-family lots, located generally en the south side of Delhi Road, apprGximately 2500 feet west of Bristol Street, was approved, subject to conditions. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Revised Tentative Tract Map No. 3698, filed by Behr Process Sales, creating six industrial parcels located generally on the north side of Talbert Avenue, approximately 981 feet west of Bristol Street, was approved, subject to conditions. On motion of CounciLman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Tentative Tract Map No. 3708, filed by J. W. Lenney, creating hR single-family lots, located generally at the southeast corner of Mabury and Fruit Streets, was approved, subject to con- ditions. Communication was read from the Planni~ Department recommending approval of Tenta- tive Tract Map No. 3711, filed by ~. Richard Brown, creating 9~ single-family lots located gener%lly between McFadden and Monta Vista Avenues and 330 feet east of Sullivan Street, subject to conditions. The applicant stated he was agreeable to the conditions except condition (h), and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and carried, Tentative Tract Map No. 3711 was approved, eliminating con- dition (h) and all other conditions were imposed. . On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Map of Tract No. 2977, filed by Rmmet C. Rogers, for the dedication of Westwood Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue for public use for highway purposes and bond in the sum of $10,000.00 were approved~ license fee in the sum of $1,350.00 accepted, and agreement covering improvements ordered signed.
