<br />A petition was presented, signed by approximately 2~ persons, requesting enforce-
<br />
<br />ment of the legal speed limit of 35 miles on W. 17th Street, between the Santa Aha
<br />
<br />RiMer and Nancy Lane. Robert Rand, 2721 W. 17th Street, advised the vehicles do
<br />
<br />not diminish their speed as they approach this area, which is on the outskirts of
<br />
<br />town, and a dangerous situation exists for pedestrians, namely the children. It
<br />
<br />was moved by Councilma~n~ Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, that the matter be
<br />
<br />referred to the Public Works Department to investigate the feasibility of installing
<br />traffic signals, or if the area should be re-signed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, action was postponed
<br />
<br />until the next meeting on the Application of the M. & W. Bus Lines, Inc., for a
<br />
<br />permit to operate a taxicab business at 201 No. Bush Street.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, Map of Tract No. 290~,
<br />
<br />filed by the Gardendale Development Company, for the dedication of Sugar Avenue,
<br />
<br />Genoa Drive, Acapulco Avenue, Driftwood Drive and Corta Drive, for public use for
<br />highway purposes, vehicular access rights to Sugar Avenue of Lots l, ~7, 36, 35, 24
<br />and 23 to the City; also Lot A to the City for storm drain purposes and drainage ~
<br />easements as shown, subject to recording of Quitclaim Deed by Newhope Drainage Dis-.
<br />
<br />trict of Orange County of drainage easement within Tract No. 2905 and bond in the
<br />sum of $70,000.00 were approved; license fee in the sum of $2,350.00 accepted, and
<br />agreement covering improvements ordered signed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Got%t~l and carried, Map of Tract No.3651
<br />filed by the Gardondale Development Company, for the dedication of Hazard Avenue an~
<br />Evonda Street, for public use for highway proposes, and ~ vehtoular access rights
<br />to Hazard Avenue and bond in the sum of $20,000.00 were approved; license fee in
<br />the sum of $1,000.00 accepted, and ~'eement covering inrprovements ordered signed.
