A petition was presented, signed by approximately 2~ persons, requesting enforce- ment of the legal speed limit of 35 miles on W. 17th Street, between the Santa Aha RiMer and Nancy Lane. Robert Rand, 2721 W. 17th Street, advised the vehicles do not diminish their speed as they approach this area, which is on the outskirts of town, and a dangerous situation exists for pedestrians, namely the children. It was moved by Councilma~n~ Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, that the matter be referred to the Public Works Department to investigate the feasibility of installing traffic signals, or if the area should be re-signed. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, action was postponed until the next meeting on the Application of the M. & W. Bus Lines, Inc., for a permit to operate a taxicab business at 201 No. Bush Street. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, Map of Tract No. 290~, filed by the Gardendale Development Company, for the dedication of Sugar Avenue, Genoa Drive, Acapulco Avenue, Driftwood Drive and Corta Drive, for public use for highway purposes, vehicular access rights to Sugar Avenue of Lots l, ~7, 36, 35, 24 and 23 to the City; also Lot A to the City for storm drain purposes and drainage ~ easements as shown, subject to recording of Quitclaim Deed by Newhope Drainage Dis-. trict of Orange County of drainage easement within Tract No. 2905 and bond in the sum of $70,000.00 were approved; license fee in the sum of $2,350.00 accepted, and agreement covering improvements ordered signed. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Got%t~l and carried, Map of Tract No.3651 filed by the Gardondale Development Company, for the dedication of Hazard Avenue an~ Evonda Street, for public use for highway proposes, and ~ vehtoular access rights to Hazard Avenue and bond in the sum of $20,000.00 were approved; license fee in the sum of $1,000.00 accepted, and ~'eement covering inrprovements ordered signed. On the south side between Rattt Street and Bristol Street, measured 52 feet south of and parallel to the survey center line of Edinger Street.
