CounciLmen Gould <br />remarked he was in accord with the Doctor and Church representatives and wishes the <br />Ordinance to be adopted so that revisions can be made later. Councilman Heinly <br />stated he was not in accord with all provisions~f the Ordinance, as it encircles <br />the rights of individuals, and that revisions ~ould be necessary. Mayor Hall reaf- <br />firmed the previous remarks that some Sections will need rectifying, but the Ordi- <br />nance does cover many favorable needs. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the recommendations <br />of the Plannlug Con~nission were approved, and the following Variance Applications <br />granted: <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1~22~ filed by Taggln Wagon Trailer Park, to convert <br />a family area into three additional trailer parking spaces, on property at 2767 W. <br />First Street~ in the M-1 District, <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. lB?3, filed by Biggars Investments, to build a ware- <br />house for furniture storage~ and relief from meeting the PK provisions, on property <br />on the west side of BO-foot easement road, running south from 17th Street, in C-1-PK <br />District, subject to conditions, <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1~24, f~led by Michael Willinger, to build a patio <br />roof, on property at 2041 So. Pacific Avenue, in the R-1 District, in accordance <br />with plot plan, <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1326~ filed by Fairview Glen Development Company, to <br />erect a temporary sign for advertising a housing tract, on property on the north <br />side of Edinger Street, between Harbor Boulevard and Sullivan Street, in the R-1 <br />District, subject to conditions, and <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1328, filed by Coordinated Service, to reduce the <br />front-yard setback from 60 feet to 50 feet from the center line of the street; and <br />to reduce side-yard setback from 4 feet to 3 feet, measured from cave to property <br />line, on property south of Hazard Street between Ward and Verano Streets, in the <br />R-1 District, subject to conditions~ <br /> <br />Communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending approval of <br />Variance Application No. 1320, filed by Elias G. Beltran~ to build an addition to <br />existing building that projects seven feet into the 4R-foot street setback llne <br />(future right-of-way line) on West F~rst Street, said addition to include two offices <br />and incidental storage, on property at 1202 W. First Street, in the C-1-PK District, <br />subject to conditions. The applicant stated the C~lifornia Bank desired a letter <br />from the City Council stating the City will pay for cutting off the existing build- <br />ing~ street paving, and installation of curb and sidewalk, before it can go into <br />escrow. Councilman Heinly stated the conditions imposed of street dedications are <br />necessary, and the Council cannot bind future Councils other than through records. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carrted~ the matter was <br />continued until the next meeting for the purpose of the City Attorney and Staff to <br />consult with the California Bank. <br /> <br />Communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending approval of <br />Variance Application No. 1327, filed by Gerald M. Weitzman, to build a two-story, <br />20-unit apartment house, with 16 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom units~ on property <br />at 1Bll No. Ross Street, in the R-2 District, subject to conditions. The applicant <br />stated their plans had been modified to include 25 parking stalls, and that 26 <br />stalls would require a subterraneanarea in front of the building which would create <br />an undue hardship. The Plauning Director stated the recommendation of 26 parking <br />stalls was in conformance with the proposed Ordinance and the need to avoid setting <br />a precedent for cthers. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the <br />l~esolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the <br /> <br /> <br />
