<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the oral recommends
<br />
<br />tion of the Manager was approved, and an extension of completion date until June
<br />1960 was granted to the Boyle Engineering, to submit their appraisal of the Dyke
<br />
<br />Water Company holdings within the City.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following
<br />
<br />Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance regulating and licensing taxicabs, motor buses,
<br /> ambulances, and the drivers thereof"
<br />
<br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Purchasing
<br />Agemt was authorized to advertise for bids on the following:
<br />
<br /> One (1) 17000 G.V.W. Truck with Cab and right-head controls, Specification
<br />621-25;
<br /> Two (2) one-half ton current model Pickup type Trucks, with flareside or
<br />stepside type bodies, Specification 621-27;
<br /> One (1) Mobile Ci2culating Library, Specification 621-26; bids to be opened
<br />June 20, 1960.
<br />
<br />Conmmmications were presented from Ramberg & Lowrey to The Gallegos Corporation,
<br />reference installation of doors in the Police Facilities Building, not in confor-
<br />mance with their agreement, and from Attorney Martell Thompson, representing G. F.
<br />Warde, dba Orange Cabinet Shop, subcontractor on the Police Facilities Building,
<br />advising his client had been notified by The Gallegos Corporation, general contrac-
<br />tor, that the doors to be installed in the Police Facilities Building do not meet
<br />the requirements of the plans and specifications, and urging that the Council con-
<br />sider this matter. It wes moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and
<br />carried, that the communications be received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Council-~n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, permission was
<br />granted to City Attorney John K. Colwell and Deputy City Attorney Bernard Lambert,
<br />to attend a school course given by the University of California and State Bar of
<br />California, Los Angeles, on June 10, 1960, at their own expense; and for the City
<br />Attorney to attend a course given by the University of California Extension Service,
<br />San Francisco, from June 24 through June 27, 1960, at his own expense.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 60-116 concerning parking limitations and curb
<br /> markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing Freight Loading Zone ~e-~ex~e~-~-~ee~-e~-%l%e-s~m~-$t-~®®l~-o~-~ on
<br />the' west side of Spurgeon Street, between Second and Third Streets, reference request
<br />of Clark's Paint and Lacquer Supply, was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />Noes, Councilmen None

<br />Commmanication was presented from Joseph W. Kennedy, 7l~1½ Barris Drive, Fullerton,
<br />advising of "two-way fender wrinkling contest" due to extreme difficulty in turning
<br />left onto Grand Avenue from Fruit Street and the partially blind corner at this
<br />intersection, and the Manager orally reported the property owner had been contacted
<br />and the obstruction would be cut hack to the standard of the City. On motion of
<br />Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communication wes received
<br />and filed.
<br />
<br />The Manager orally reported reference the request from Maximino Preciado, owner of
<br />La Paloma Cafe, 900 E. ~th Street, for a permit to use the property at the rear of
<br />the Cafe to construct a patio and use said patio for dining and dancing, and advised
<br />
<br />
