A tabulation of bids was presented for the widening of McFadden Avenue, between Sullivan Street and Raitt Street, Project No. 114~ and for the widening of Raitt Street, between Edinger Street and McFadden Avenue, Project No. Total Ralph D. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, action was postponed to June 6, 1960, on the award of the bid for Public Liability Insurance for the City of Santa Aha, for a three-year period starting July 1, 1960, Specification No.522-1, and the matter referred to the Manager and Attorney for study and report. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the recc~mendations of the Planning Commission were approved, and the following Variance Applications grant ed: Variance Application No. 1302, filed by J. N. Goode, to convert present build- ings on property into offices (real estate, contractors, accountants, etc. ) on property at 601 E. 17th Street, in the R-2 District, subject to conditions, and for one office only, Variance Application No. 1310, filed by Richard C. Banning, to build an addi- tion to house, which will then attach house and garage on property at lO18 E. Buffalo Avenue, in the R-1 District, in accordance with plot plan, Variance Application No. 1311, filed by Nyanza Park Estates, Inc., to decrease the front-yard setback from the center line of the street, from 60 feet to 55 feet, on property located on the south side of Tenth Street, bounded by English Street on the east, Hawley Street on the west, and Eighth Street on the south, in the R-1 District, in accordance with plot plan, Variance Application No. 1312, filed by J. and O. M.,Inc., to decrease the front-yard setback from the property line, from 30 feet to 20 feet, situated north of Trask Avenue, between Laird Street and the Santa Ana River Channel, in the R-1 District, in accordance with plot plan, with the understanding that all other re- quired yard distances from property line to eave shall be in accordance with the existing Ordinance, Variance Application No. 1313, filed by James R. Kemney, to operate a retail lapidary business in existing building, on property at 1621 Greenville Street, in the R-2 District, subject to conditions, Variance Application No. 1315, filed by Albert J. and Mabel S.
