456 <br /> <br />Ordinance <br />Proposed Land-Use <br />(set hearing date) <br /> <br />Ordinance <br />Proposed Sections <br />4231 and ~232 <br />(resorting) <br /> <br />Communications <br />City of Orange, et al <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, that a hearing <br /> <br />date be set on June 6, 1960, for consideration of the final draft of the proposed <br /> <br />Revised Land-Use Ordinance, as prepared by the Planning Department, which said <br /> <br />Ordinance does not make any change in the classification of any property within the <br /> <br />City, but provides for eight new Districts and provides changes in the regulations <br /> <br />of existing Districts. <br /> <br />On motion Of Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Ordi- <br /> <br />nance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance emending Santa Aha Municipal Code by adding two Sections <br />thereto regulating occupancy and use of places of public accommo- <br />dation'' <br /> <br />and that Part 3 of Chapter 2 of Article IV of the Santa Aha Municipal Cede is hereby <br /> <br />emended by adding thereto two new Sections in words and figures as f o llows: <br /> <br />Section No. 4231. Unlawful Occupancy. <br /> <br /> Persons of the opposite sex, except husband and wife or parent and minor <br />child or adult and related minor child with the exact relationship shown, <br />shall not Jointly register and occupy an~ roc~ in anyhotel, motel, lodging <br />house, rooming house, trailer park or other place where transients are accom- <br />modated in the City. <br /> <br />Section No. ~232. Unlawm~ul Renting. <br /> <br /> (a) No proprietor, manager, or other person in charge of any building or <br />place where transients are accommodated shall register, rent or assign any <br />room, space, or place for Joint occupancy by persons of the opposite sex, un- <br />less such persons shall be registered as husband and wife or as parent and <br />minor child or adult and related mfnor child with the exact relationship show~. <br /> <br /> (b) No proprietor, manager, or other person in charge of any hotel, <br />motel, lodging house, rooming house, trailer or other place where transients <br />are acc~maodated for sleeping or lodging purposes shall rent or let any room, <br />rooms, or trailer more than once to the seme person or persons between the <br />hours of 6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. of the next day. <br /> <br /> (c) No proprietor, manager, or other person in charge of any hotel, <br />motel, lodging house, rooming house, trailer or other place where transients <br />are accommodated for sleepf~ or lodging pu_wposes shall rent or assign any <br />room, space, or place to two or more persons without first requiring said per- <br />son to register, excepting therefrom minor children under the age of sixteen <br />years. <br /> <br /> (d) No proprietor, manager, or other person in charge of any hote4 motel, <br /> lodging house, rooming house, trailer or other place where transients are <br /> com~odated for sleeping or lodging purposes shall knowingly rent, let, or <br /> assign any room, space, or place to any person or persons for the purpose of <br /> prostitution. <br />~as introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />On motion of Cou~c~lmau Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the followiug com- <br /> <br />munications were received and filed: <br /> <br /> From the City of Orange submitting copy of Resolution No. 1641 proposing to <br />annex certain property located on the extreme north side of Orange designated <br />"Annexation No. 131," <br /> From the City of Orange submitting copy of Resolution No. 1642 propos~Bg to <br />annex certain property located on the extreme north side of Orange designated <br />"Annexation No. 132," <br /> Frc~ the City of Orange submitting copy of Resolution No. 1643 proposing to <br />annex certain property located at LaVeta and Woodland, approximately one mile <br />northeast of northeast corner of "lTth and Wright Streets N.E.Annex" designated <br />"Annexation No. <br /> From the City of Orange submitting copy of Resolution No. 16~7 proposing to <br />annex certain property located on the extreme north side of Orange designated <br />"Annexation No. 134," <br /> From the Santa Ana Board of Realtors, advising the members of this organization <br />are handling over 90~ of all brokerage transactions covering real estate in this <br />area, and requesting all information pertaining to any pending legislation when it <br />is in the formative stage, so that a cc~mmittee from their Board may analyze the far <br />reaching effect it may have on their business before it becomes a law, <br /> From the Manager of the Chember of Commerce submitting copy of a motion made <br />by the Civic Beautification Con~nittee of the Chamber of Commerce for evaluation and <br />possible suggestions as to how the Chamber might help in such a problem, <br /> From the N~nager of the ChamBer of Ccmmaerce stating c~nsiderable t~e and <br />effort has been spent by the Civic Affairs Committee studying and evaluating the <br />proposed new zoning Ordinance, and advising the C(~,m~lttee, at their regular meeting <br />April 8th, approved the proposed City zoning Ordinance, subject to the revisions <br />agreed upon, <br /> From the City of San Diego submitting certified copy of Resolution No. 1601~2 <br />requesting the producers, distributors and exhibitors of motion pictures in this <br />area to cease forthwith the presentation of films to the public which are salacious <br /> <br /> <br />
