472 Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall June 20, 1960 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould. Jro, Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer. A. A. Hall Absent: Councilmen None The Pledge of Allegiance was given. Invocation was given by Reverend Robert Martz, First Presbyterian Church. Retirement Dale Griggs Mayor Hall announced that Dale Griggs, Director of Recreation and Parks is retiring June BO, 1960, after 28 years of service to the City. Mr. Griggs expressed his appreciation for the excellent support he had received from this Council and the many previous Councils. Councilman Heinly praised Mr. Griggs for his dedication to the Parks and Recreation Program and wished him well in his retirement. Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of June 6, 1960, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried. Bid acceptance Truck Chassis with Cab A tabulation of bids was presented for the furnishing of One (1) Right-Hand Control Truck Chassis with Cab, Specification No. 621-25, and the Manager stated only one bid was received, from the International Harvester. Co.~ in the total amount of $2,907.67. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the bid o f Bid acceptance Pickup ts~e Trucks International Harvester Company was accepted in the total amount of $2,907.67. A tabulation of bids was presented for the furnishing of Two (2) One-half ton current model Pickup type Trucks, with flareside or stepside type bodies, Specifi- cation No. 621-27, as follows: International Harvester Co. McMurtrie-Payne Corporation George Dunton, Inc. Guaranty Chevrolet M~tors Total SB, 5 1.16 3,947.00 3,287. ho 3,~88.31 On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by BreWer and carried, the low bid of George Dunton, Inc. was accepted, in the total amount of $3,287.40, and all other Bid acceptance Mobile Circulating Library bids were rejected. A tabulation of bids was presented for the furnishing of One (1) Mobile Circulating Library~ Specification No. 621-26, and t~e Manager stated only one bid was received, from The Gerstenslager Company, in the total amount-of $15,761~89, and bond in the amount of $17, OO0.00. On motion of CounciLman Gould~ seconded by Brewer and carried, the bid of The Gerstenslager Company was accepted, in the total amount of $15,761.89, and the City Manager instructed not to exceed the total amount of $16,000.00 for the Vehicle and equipment and $1~,O00.00 for the library, with the selections of various ~ptions and alternatives.
