Newport Avenue~ requested reconsideration of the Amendment Application denied by the Planning Commission, and stated that the proposed zone change will make available new off-street parking spaces, new building sites~ and other facilities to further expand the services of the Southside Shopping Center~ extending between South Main Street and South Broadway, including among other retail businesses~ the Sears Retail Store. We have requested C-2 zoning and feel this property is more applicable to a business application now and in the future range planning~ than it is to a residential use. The property immediately south and to the east are also zoned C-2~ and the natural growth pattern is north along Broadway~ between Sycamore and Broadway. Councilman Brewer suggested reclassification to the C-1 District and Mr. Missildine stated there would be no objection to the C-1 classification The hearing was closed. It was moved by Councilman Brewer and seconded by Hubbard, that the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code to change district classification on Amendment Application No. ~2~ and amending Sectional District Nap No. 24-5-10" with a change in the reclassification fram the R-1 and R-2 Districts to the C-1 District~ instead of C-2 District as shown in Amendment Application No. 323, was introduced~ considered and placed on file for second reading. Kilroy~ amending Sectional District Map 22-5-10, Exhibit S25-A, to re- classify from R-1 to M-1 District property adjacent to and 962 feet 'north of westerly extension of Harvard Street, lying adjacent to and 2000 feet east of the Santa Ana River, and south and west of the Federal Communications C property; no protests were received and the hearing was closed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana Nunictpal Code to change district classification on Amendment Appli- cation No. 325 and amending Sectional District Map No. 22-5-10 (Exhibit 325 A)" was introduced~ considered and placed on file for second reading. This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 326, filed by Frank D. Patty, amending Sectional District Map 19-5-9, Exhibit S26-A, to re- classify from C-1 to R-3 District property on the east side of Evergreen Street between Occidental and Edinger Streets; no protests were received and the was closed. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by ttubbard and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa ~na Municipal Code to change district classification on Amendment Application No. 326 and amending Sectional District Map No. 19-5-9 (Exhibit 326 A)" was introduced~ considered and placed on file for second reading. This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 329~. initiated by the Planning Commission, amending Sectional District Map 5-5-9, Exhibits 329-A and S29-B~ to reclassify fram present County R 1-7200 District Classifica tion to City 9f Santa Ana R 1-7200~ R-lB, A-1 and C-5 Districts~ Certain prop-
