Hubbard, Bob B~ewer, A. A. Hall <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Ralph Worsham of The Megister. <br /> <br />Each m~-ber of the City Council having received copies of the Minute~ of <br />November 21, 1960, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motic~ of Counc~l-~n Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />~rOva Sugar Ave. <br />1~n/Harbsr Blvd. and <br />West City TMmtts <br />Project 126 <br /> <br />A tabulaticm of bids was presented for the improvement of Sugar Avenue, between <br /> <br />Harbor Boulevard and the West City Limits, Project 126, as follows: <br /> Total <br />C~x B~os. Constrllction Co. $37,5~.30 10% Bid Bond <br />Griffith Ccm~pam~ 38,881.80 $~,000.00 " " <br />Sully-Miller Cml~aoting Ccm~!~any 28,955.00 10% " " <br /> <br />On motion of Councilma- B~ewer~ seconded by Hubbard and carried, the lowest and best <br /> <br />bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Com~ly was accepted at the unit prices and in the <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Vacate portion <br /> St. ,btn <br /> and lOth Sts. <br /> <br />total amount of $28,955.00, and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing to vacate a portion of Riverine Street, between <br />a point 150 feet north of Eighth and Tenth Streets, Mr. C. M. Featherly, Chairman, <br />Orange Cmmty Board of Supervisors, stated their Resolution No. 60-931, dated <br /> <br />September 13, 1960, requested the abando~ent and vacatien of a porti~ of Riverine <br /> <br />Street, and subsequently receiyed a letter from the City Attorney advising that a <br /> <br />porticel of a street could no~ be vacated unless the entire street were vacated. <br /> <br />Mr. Featherly requested a sixty-day contin~mnce of the matter, to notify the tenants <br /> <br />residing between Eighth aud Tenth Streets. He further stated the County is in the <br /> <br />process of developing a Civic Center, and this area was finally decided upou for a <br /> <br />parking area for County-owned equipment and servicing, which will eventually be <br /> <br />housed in a five-story garage. Attorney DelBert A. Larsh, 505 First Western Bank <br /> <br />Building, representing Dr. Milo Tedstrcm, owner of property cm the northwest corner <br /> <br />of the intersection of Riverine and Eighth Streets, objected to a cc~tinuauce of the <br /> <br />matter, as, if the petition is illegal, it w~uld serve no purpose. The hearing was <br /> <br />closed. It was moved by Counci!m"~ Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, that <br /> <br /> <br />
