RESOLUTION NO. 82- <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana supports <br />the national policy position of the National League of <br />Cities endorsing the efforts by the Reagan Administration <br />and the Congress to implement a fair and efficient method of <br />immigration control to replace the present unfair and <br />inefficient one. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Manager of the City of Santa Ana and his <br />staff are hereby directed to continue their efforts to <br />support rational and humane reform of federal immigration <br />law and policies for the benefit of all the residents of the <br />City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> 3. The United States Department of Justice and its <br />Immigration and Naturalization Service are hereby urged to <br />refrain from aggressive use of the 'area control' <br />enforcement method until new immigration laws and policies <br />take effect. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this day of , 1982. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Gordon Bricken, Mayor <br /> <br />Janice C.
