<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Clerk was
<br />
<br />authorized to employ Martin & Chapman Ccm~pany, Ltd., for services and printing
<br />
<br />for the General Municipal Election to be held April 4, 1961.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the
<br />
<br />Manager was approved for budget revision from Fund 23-234-~54, Recreation and Par~
<br />
<br />Municipal Bowl, to l~md 23-25h-399, Recreation and Parks - Memorial Park Mainten-
<br />
<br />ance, in the amount of $700.00, for the purpose of making repairs to a burned out
<br />
<br />transformer and electrical system in the vault at Memorial Park.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilmau Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, permission was
<br />
<br />granted to the Air National Guard Squadron to use the "Committee Room," ~he rear
<br />
<br />rocm of the Co~unity Center Clubhouse, at 1104 W. Eighth Street, without charge,
<br />
<br />for use as a stud~ and lecture room, for the week-ends of January 21 ampi 22,
<br />
<br />February 25 and 26, and March 25 and 26, 1961, and the study space is to be clean~
<br />
<br />after each use.

<br />Petitions were presented signed by approximately 3~ persons requesting annexation
<br />
<br />to the City of territory, consisting of approximately 1,280 acres; segment one of
<br />
<br />this area is bounded on the north by Fairhaven Avenme, on the west by Lincoln
<br />
<br />Avenue, on the south by Santa Clara Avenue, and on the east by Prospect Avenue;
<br />
<br />and segment two of this area is bounded on the north by Santa Clara Avenue, on the
<br />
<br />west by the Corporate Limits of Tustin, on the south by First Street, and on the
<br />
<br />east by Esplanade and Newport Avenues, designated "Vanderlip and Newport Northwest
<br />
<br />Annexation." On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the
<br />
<br />petitions ware received and filed.

<br />On motion of Coun~i!~n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following

<br />Applications to Solicit Funds were granted:

<br /> Santiago Girl Scout Council, 2216 North ~roadway, to conduct the annual Girl
<br />Scout Cookie Sale from February 10 to March 20, 1961, and
<br />
<br /> Orange County Heart Associatien, 1~02 No. Broadway, to conduct the Annual
<br />Heart Fund Campaign during the month of 'February, 1961, in a door-to-door canvass
<br />in residential areas, plus the placement of coin banks in stores and mercantile
<br />honses ·

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the application of
<br />
<br />Diabetes Association of Southern California, 2007 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles,
<br />
<br />was denied to conduct a door-to-door solicitation on January 22, 23 and 24, 1961~
<br />
