<br /> of 17th Street, subject to conditions, and advising all improvements have been
<br /> installed in accordance with the approved p!a~s, and all conditions of the approval
<br /> of the tentative map have been complied with. On motion of CounciLman Hubbard,
<br /> seconded by Brewer and carried, the cu~.~-unication was referred to the Department
<br /> of Public Works for verification.

<br /> On motion of Counci~mau Hubbard, seconded by Gould and cerrie~, the request of the
<br /> Department of Public Works was granted, the plans and specifications approved, and
<br />
<br /> the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids for the remodeling of portions
<br /> ~f City Nall; B~ds to be Opened February 6, 1961.
<br /> On motion of Councilma~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the
<br /> Department of Public Works was granted, the plans and specifications approved, and
<br /> the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids, for the reconstruction of
<br /> Grand Avenue, between McFadden Avenue and Delhi Road, Project No. 124, subject to
<br /> State approval of the plans and specifications; and for the reconstruction of
<br /> Chestnut Avenue, between Grand Avenue and a point approximately 780 feet west,
<br /> Project C-60; bids to be opened February 20, 1961.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the
<br />Department of Public Works was granted, the plans and specifications approved, and
<br />the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids, for the reconstruction of
<br />Fifth Street, betwemn Main and Spurgeon Streets, Project C-47; for the reconstruc-
<br />tion of Ninth Street, between Bush and French Streets, Project C-~8; for the recon-
<br />struction of Century Boulevard, between Harbor Boulevard and Westminster Avenue,
<br />Project C-51; and for the improvement of Ponona Street, west of Parton Street appr~
<br />!mately 150 feet, Project C-63; bids to be opened February 6, 1961.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom-
<br /> mendation of the Manager, dated January 12, 1961, was approved, for salary step
<br /> increases for five employees, effective February 1, 1961.

<br /> On motion of Counc~m-n Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the claim of the
<br /> Southern California Edison Cum~any for alleged damage to overhead facilities by
<br /> City Road Grader when clearing tumble weeds off the private property east of Jacks¢
<br /> Street and north of Camile Street, in the sum of $100.51, was referred to the City
<br /> Attorney and Insurance Carrier.

<br /> The Council haviug unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> COUnCilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution en-
<br /> titled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 61-16 concerning parking meters and signs
<br /> in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br /> establishing a 24-Minute mete/~ parking space on the north side of Sixth Street,
<br /> between Main and Sycamore Streets, reference request of F. L. Scott, Santa Aha Hotel,
<br /> wes considered and passed by the following vote:
