<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Goulda~d carried, the Purchasing Agent

<br />~Onn recc~maendation of the Department of Public Works, and
<br /> motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, bond in the sum of
<br />
<br />$100,000.00, filed by S.N.S. Builders~ for the improvements on 61 residential lots
<br />
<br />located at the northeast corner of Fifth and Newhope Streets, in Tract No. 3737,
<br />
<br />was ordered released and improvements accepted as completed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Coullcllm-n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the ccmmunication
<br />
<br />from Francis X. Shoen, 19081 Newport Avenue, was received and filed, requesting
<br />
<br />amendment of Ordinances referring to house moving, and particularly Sections 8605
<br />
<br />and 8606 of the Code, objecting to the posting of a cleanup bond as an unnecessary
<br />
<br />requirement. Mr. Shoen stated his objection to posting a cleanup bond in a house
<br />
<br />moving situation, where no cleanup bond is required for the construction of new
<br />
<br />buildings.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom-
<br />
<br />mendation of the Manager, dated February 8, 1961, was approved, for salary step
<br />
<br />increases for one employee, effective February 1, 1961, and eight employees, effec-
<br />
<br />tire March 1, 1961.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the application of
<br />
<br />Orange County Voiture ~527 ~0-8, 1~39 E. Barkley, Orange, to solicit funds from
<br />
<br />February 21 to May 7, 1961, was granted, for the student nurses training and child
<br />
<br />welfare in the County.
<br />
<br />On recc~mendation of the Police Department, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br />
<br />seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the C~lifornia Auction School and
<br />
<br />
<br />
