<br /> ~or the construction of street improvements on Newhope Street within the boundaries
<br /> of Tract No. 3737, which were in excess of the improvements required of a standard
<br /> local street.

<br />On recommendation of the Department of Public Works, and on motion of Councilman
<br />Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the bonds were ordered released and
<br />merits accepted as completed on the following Tracts:
<br />
<br /> Bond in the s~n of $190~0OO.00, filed by Fairview Glen Development Campany,
<br /> for the improvements on 478 single-family residential lots, a nine-acre school site
<br /> and a twelve-acre park site, all located between the Santa Ana River, McFadden
<br /> Avenue, Fairview Street and Edinger Avenue~ in Tract No. 3627, and
<br />
<br /> Bond in the sum of $125,000.00, filed by Galway, Inc., for the improvemen~on
<br /> 197 lots located east of Berrydale Street, south cf Trask Avenue, west of the Santa
<br /> Aha River and north of 17th Street, in Tract No. 3834.
<br />
<br /> On reco~nendation of the Police Department, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br /> seconded by Heinly and carried, the request of Jack Rouse & Son wes granted, to
<br /> conduct an auction on equipment formerly leased to Santa Ana Ready Mix, at
<br />
<br />Townsend Street, on MarchlS, 1961 at 10:30 ~. M.
<br />
<br />Communication was presented from the Director of Publi~ Works advising the petition~
<br />to provide sanitary sewer mains and sewer laterals to serve the area northwest of
<br />Westminster Avenue and Berrydale Street, Assessment District No. 210, and the Mar-
<br />Less Drive area south of Westminster Avenue, Assessment District No. 211, have been
<br />checked as to the validity of the signatures, and it has been found that the valid
<br />signatures of the property owners consisted of 66.h% for Assessment District No.
<br />210, and 63.55 for Assessment District No. 211. On motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br />seconded by Heinly and carried, the report of the Director of Public Works on the
<br />percentage of the validity of the signatures was accepted, the Department of Public
<br />Works directed to process the Assessment District% and authority granted to employ
<br />a Consultant to perform the engineering legal work.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the request of the
<br />Department of Public Works was approved for payment of $950.01 to Bay Construction
<br />'Cc~apany, Incorporated, for the construction of street improvements on McFadden
<br />Avenue (Sugar Avenue) within the b~aries of Tract No, 3656, which were in excess
<br />of the improvements required of a standard local street.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the oral request
<br /> of the Manager was approved for a Budget transfer from Fund 51-569, Public Works
<br /> Corporation Yard, to Fund 51-531, Public Works Street Cleanin~in the sum of
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the oral request
<br /> the Manager was approved to refund payments to concerns who paid both Garden Grove
<br /> Sanitary District and City house sewer connection charges.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 61-65 concerning Through Streets in the
<br /> City of Santa Ana"
<br />
<br />being Fairview Street, to begin at the north property line of Edinger Avenue, to
<br />at the south property line of First Street, excepting McFadden Avenue; Verano
<br />to begin at the south propertyline of Westminster Avenue, to end at the south cente~
<br />line approximately hO0 feet north of center line of Smeltzer Avenue, excepting
<br />Avenue; Segerstr0m Avenue, to begin at the east property line of Harbor Boulevard~
<br />
<br />to end at the west proper~ tine of Greenville Street~ Sycamore Street, to begin at
<br /> property
