Rice, General Manage: <br />and H. Randall Stokes, ^ttorney~ ElectroData Division of Burroughs Corporatic~, <br />Pasadena~ was to ascertain the plans and program of said C~mpany with reference <br />to the proposed industrial construction on their property located at the inter- <br />section southwest of Bristol Street and Warner Avenue (DeLhi Road)~ which was <br />rezoned in 1957 from the R-1 to the M-1 District. CounciLmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr <br />and Bob Brewer arrived at the meeting at ll:~5 ~.M. Attorney H. Randall Stokes <br />stated it was the intention of ElectroData to construct on this property~ but due <br />to the 1958-59 recession and the delayed development of the B-5000 Computer, they <br />had no idea as to when this would be done. Councilman Heinly stated Council de- <br />temined, at the time of the rezoning, and perhaps erroneously, that it wSuldbeto <br />the best interest of the City to have this particular industry in that area~ and <br />would st~ll be in favor of the proposed constrt~ction, but as this is a prime resi- <br />dential section and there is a continuing intention but construction has not <br />developed, the area should be returned to the R-1 Zone, until such time as Electro. <br />Data is ready to proceed with their plans. Councilman Gould inquired about the us~ <br />of a portion of the property sold to C. J. Segerstrom & Sons, and stated his pre- <br />ference to maintain the area as residential. Attorney H. Randall Stokes stated <br />that immediately upon the acquisition of the property, an engineering study had <br />been made and a report submitted including the type of building that should be <br />placed on the property.
