RESOLUTION NO. 2003-016 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NOS. 82-110 AND <br />85-27 TO REFLECT NEGOTIATED CHANGES <br />REGARDING REPRESENTED PART-TIME TITLES AND <br />PROVIDE RECOMMENDED PAY INCREASES FOR ALL <br />UNAFFILIATED PART-TIME TITLES FOR FISCAL YEARS <br />2002-2003 AND 2003-2004 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br /> <br />On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the City of Santa <br />Ana. <br /> <br />On February 4, 1985, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />85-27 establishing the exempt class of Management Intern in the office of <br />the City Manager. <br /> <br />On July 20, 1992, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />92-071, amending Resolution No. 82-110 to set forth wage rates for <br />Unaffiliated and Represented Part-Time titles, respectively. <br /> <br />The City Council has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the <br />Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO Chapter 1939, Local <br />347, showing an adjusted listing of Represented Part-Time class titles and <br />providing an across-the-board six and one-half percent (6.5%) base wage <br />increase for Represented Part-Time employees effective March 11, 2003, <br />and an additional four percent (4.0%) increase effective July 1, 2003. <br /> <br />It is now proposed to provide Unaffiliated Part-Time employees an <br />equivalent increase in base wages as outlined above, and to set forth <br />corresponding wage rates in the basic classification/compensation plans <br />for both Unaffiliated and Represented Part-Time classification titles. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-016 <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
