RESOLUTION 92-071 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD <br />CERTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS TO THE CITY'S BASIC <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO <br />PROVIDE RECOMMENDED PAY INCREASES TO ALL <br />UNAFFILIATED PART-TIME CLASSIFICATIONS FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 1992-93. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City <br />of Santa Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain <br />a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules <br />and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted <br />Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan for officers and Employees of the <br />City of Santa Aha; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on July 20, 1992, the City Council adopted the newly <br />negotiated Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Ana <br />and the Service Employees International Union, Local 1939, <br />AFL-CIO, CLC, Part-time Employees' Representation Unit effective <br />May 1, 1992, through June 30, 1993, and provided for a three-and-one- <br />half-percent (3.5%) base wage increase effective June 26, 1992; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of such new agreement, the number of <br />classifications included in the Part-time Employees' Unit represented <br />by SEIU Local 1939 has been reduced, thereby leaving the remaining <br />Unaffiliated Part-time classifications without the salary increase <br />provided to Represented Part-time classes; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Part-time classifications represented by SEIU Local 1939 <br />and included in previous Memorandums of Understanding have not been <br />included in Resolution No. 82-110, the City's Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to include both Represented <br />and Unaffiliated Part-time titles in the City's Basic Classification <br />and Compensation Plan, and desires to provide a general three-and-one- <br />half percent (3.5%) increase in the base wages assigned to classes of <br />part-time employment not affiliated with any representational unit, <br />effective June 26, 1992: <br /> <br /> <br />
