RESOLUTION NO. 85-23 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />construction/financing of new school facilities <br />as an alternative to development/developers fees; <br /> <br />early and positive participation by both agencies <br />in each other's planning activities; <br /> <br />continuing mutual development of quality educa- <br />tional, recreational, and cultural services <br />(i.e., Santa Ana Stadium, Santa Ana High School <br />Civic Auditorium, Park/School Sites. <br /> <br /> Inasmuch as both the School District and the City have <br />indicated a desire to set an agenda for the timely resolution <br />to the above mentioned issues, the following actions shall take <br />place: <br /> <br />The City shall commence as soon as possible <br />to review all elements of the City's General <br />Plan and create an Education Element of the <br />General Plan. <br /> <br />The School Board and City Council shall hold <br />semi-annual meetings addressing these issues <br />and other issues of shared concern. <br /> <br />The City Manager and School District <br />Superintendent shall meet quarterly. <br /> <br />Staff liaison from the City and School <br />District shall meet on a monthly basis. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Santa Ana <br />Unified school District and the City of Santa Ana will work <br />cooperatively to mitigate any negative impact of continuing <br />growth in the community on the essential services provided <br />by both agencies, including a timely amendment to the General <br />Plan of the City of Santa Ana to include future school sites <br />in order to enhance educational and recreational facilities/ <br /> <br /> <br />
