161 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 87-95 <br />TO ADD A NEW MIDDLE-MANAGEMENT CLASSIFICATION <br />OF ASSISTANT PLANNING DIRECTOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on December 21, 1987, the City Council passed <br />and adopted Resolution No. 87-95, reestablishing the Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan for classes of employment <br />designated as unrepresented executive and middle-management; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter <br />of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, <br />install and maintain a position classification and pay plan <br />subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval <br />of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due to a reorganization within the Planning <br />and Building Safety Department, and in consideration of current <br />and projected budgetary constraints, the Executive Director of <br />that department, has begun the process of consolidating the <br />duties and responsibilities from senior-level positions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly classify and compensate <br />a newly restructured position, it is proposed that a new <br />middle-management level class of ASSISTANT PLANNING DIRECTOR be <br />established at this time. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. Section 3B of Resolution No. 87-95, the Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan for Unrepresented <br />Management Employees, is hereby amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the <br />class title of ASSISTANT PLANNING DIRECTOR at Management Salary <br />Rate Range M-19 with the minimum to maximum hiring rate range <br />of $3613-$4295. <br /> <br /> b. Designating said class as unrepresented <br />middle management by adding the parenthetical identifier (MM) <br />following the class title. <br /> <br /> <br />
