RESOLUTION NO. 89-064 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA INCREASING SEWER <br />CONNECTION FEES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, section 39-53 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />("SAMC") requires payment of a fee for sewer connections to pay <br />for the cost of sewer construction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said SAMC section 39-53 provides that the <br />amount of the fee is based on an assessment per fixture units, <br />except that in the case of parcels not previously connected to a <br />public sewer the fee for the first occupancy unit benefitted by <br />the sewer connection is based upon the standard cost of <br />construction of a sewer main for a distance equal to the lineal <br />street frontage of the subject parcel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with SAMC section 39-53, the <br />assessment per fixture unit and the standard cost of sewer <br />construction per lineal foot of street frontage is to be specified <br />by resolution of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the city Council does now desire to increase <br />the sewer connection fee; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. For ~urposes of SAMC section 39-53, the assessment <br />per fixture unit is set at $28.00 and the standard cost of <br />construction of a main sewer line is sst at $44.00 per lineal <br />foot. <br /> <br /> 2. The purpose of the fee is to provide for sewers to <br />meet the sanitation needs of the owners and occupants of property <br />in the City. <br /> <br /> 3. The use to which the above said Fee will be put is <br />the construction, or reimbursement for construction, of sewers. <br />The public facilities to be financed by the Fee are identified in <br />Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein. <br /> <br /> 4. The fee applies to all types of development <br />projects, including residential, commercial, office and <br />industrial, which require connection to the public sewer system. <br />The use of the fee for sewers and the need for such facilities is <br />reasonably related to all types of development projects because <br />all such development projects generate sewage and require the <br />protection from sewerage provided by sewers. <br /> <br /> 5. As used hereinafter "project" means proposed <br />construction activity which is subject to the payment of a sewer <br /> <br /> <br />
