On <br />motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication <br /> <br />Reso. No. 61-103 <br />Expressing Opposition <br />Senate Bill 789 <br />State Aid for Libraries <br /> <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />The Council having u~uimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution on- <br /> <br />titled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 61-103 of the City Council of Santa Ana, <br />California, expressing opposition to Senate Bill 789 <br />and declaring that State aid for libraries is neither <br />necessary nor desirable" <br /> <br />whereas this Senate Bill is similar to Assembly Bill No. 1985, introduced at a <br /> <br />special session in 1960, without some of the most objectionable features of said <br /> <br />Assembly Bill, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Reso.No. 61-104 <br />Remove parking both <br />sides Main Street <br />from Santiago Creek <br />Bridge to Owens Drive <br /> <br />Ayes, CounciLmen Royal E. Dr. Donald E. Lind, owner of the North Main Veterinary Hospital, 2643 No. <br /> <br />Main Street, again objected to the removal of the parking in front of his business <br /> <br />Communication <br />Weber Bread Co. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on mo- <br />tlon of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution <br />entitled: "Resolution No. 61-104 concerning parking limitations <br /> and curb markings in accordance therewith" <br />establishing NoParking Zones on the east side of Main Street, between the south line <br />of Santiago Creek Bridge and the south property line of Owens Drive, and on the wast <br />side of Main Street, between the south line of Santiago Creek Bridge and 225 feet <br />north of Roe Drive, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, <br /> Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall <br /> Councilmen None <br /> Councilmen Nane <br /> <br />C.~..,.,unication was presented frcm the Interstate Bakeries Corporation, 2656 North <br /> <br />Main Street, stating they had deeded twelve feet of property for the widening of <br /> <br />North Main Street, and their Division, Weber Bread Company, is inset sufficiently <br /> <br />from the double line in the center of Main Street to not interfere with the flow of <br /> <br />traffic moving south, and requesting a time limit loading zone on the west side of <br /> <br />North Main Street for the operatio~ of their Surplus Bread and Cake Thrift Shop, <br /> <br />between the hours of 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. daily. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />seconded by Brewer and carried, the c,~..,unication was received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
