<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, bond in the sum of
<br />
<br />$87,000.00, filed by Fir Ridge, Inc., for the improvements of property located east
<br />
<br />of Berrydale Street, south of Trask Avenue, west of the Santa Ana River and north
<br />
<br />of 17th Street, in Tract No. 3833, was ordered released and improvements accepted
<br />as completed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Purchasing
<br />
<br />Agent was authorized to advertise forbids on:

<br /> The 1961-62 fiscal year requirements for Gasoline, Specification No. 461-7,
<br />and for Electric Lamps, Specification No. 452-9; bids to be opened May 15, 1961;and
<br />

<br /> Furnish and Erect a Bear Grotto in Prentice Park, Specificatio~;673 3, and a
<br />Comfort Station, includimg Electrical Switchboard and Vault in Windsor Park, Speci-
<br />fication No. 672-10; bids to be opened June 5, 1961.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the request of the
<br />
<br />Department of Public Works was granted, and the Purchasing Agent authorized to ad-
<br />
<br />vertise for bids, for a Combination Melting Kettle and Joint Sealer, Specification
<br />
<br />623-18; bids to be opened June 5, 1961.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the application
<br />
<br />of the Orange County Association for Retarded Children was granted to solicit funds
<br />
<br />through the sale of tickets for the Regan Brothers Circus, May 8th through July 30th,
<br />
<br />1961, with the circus to be held on July 30th, to pay on the mortgage of the Paular'
<br />
<br />ino School building and equipment for a work shop to teach crafts tO retarded chil-
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br />
<br />seconded by Heinly and carried, the following claims
<br />
<br />were referred to the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier:
<br />
<br /> Gladys M. Hfuidley, 1715 No. Ross Street, for alleged damages in her hame when
<br />the City sewerage overflowed through the toilet six inches deep throughout the base-
<br />ment floor, in the sum of $2~5.00;
<br />
<br /> Amended Verified Claim of Farmers Insurance Group for alleged damages sustaine~
<br />to a 1954 Ford, owned by John Matkin and insured by the Farmers Insurance Exchange,
<br />which was involved in an accident on Delhi Road and not towed into the Santa Ana
<br />Police Department's garage, but left on the road and stripped and damaged, with a
<br />total amount of loss in the sum of $33.50; and
<br />
<br /> First Church of Christ, Scientist, 920 No. Main Street, for alleged damages to
<br />their building, various fixtures and supplies stored there, due to sewage water from
<br />Main Street flooding their basement, and submitting an itemized list, together with
<br />actual and estt-mted cost, in the sum of $893.41, and advising two major items not
<br />yet determined, the cost of damage to plaster and the continuing expense of ridding
<br />the Cbnwch edifice of odor.
<br />
<br />Councilman Heinly disqualified himself on the following matter. On motion of Coun-
<br />
<br />ci!mmn Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the request of Mr. Louis Joseph,
<br />A. B. C. Store, 3328 W. Bolsa Avenue, for a traffic signal on Bolsa Avenue, was de-
<br />ferred for sixty days at the request of the Administrative Staff.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution enti-
<br />
<br />tled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 61-117 concerning parking limitations and curb
<br /> markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />removing the Freight Loading Zone on East Fourth Street, between French and Lacy
<br />
<br />Streets, and rescinding and repealing Resolution No. 59-94, adopted April 20, 1959,'
<br />
<br />reference request of Gish's Cafe, was considered and passed by the following vote:
